Staff Project Manager

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Staff Project Manager to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.

Essential Functions:

Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience,OR aMaster's degree with 13 years of relevant work experience in project management, business management (finance), and/or operations management

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Security clearance is required


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience turning around programs with customer satisfaction challenges
  • Experience developing and using metrics and measures to monitor program performance
  • Experience in aerospace and defense programs
  • Joint STARS knowledge and experience
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Experience preparing presentations for leadership
  • Mature understanding of the affordability process and familiarity with contract types and earned value management
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience with development or support programs
  • Minimum of 15 years with technical project management experience
  • DOD Secret Clearance
