Staff IT Administrator

The Rocky Mountain Division of Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is currently seeking a reliable and hardworking Staff IT Administrator for our Littleton, Colorado, office. Our Staff IT Administrator will be responsible for maintaining computers, related equipment, software, and documentation, and providing technical support to staff for all computer software and equipment. This position will also entail providing instruction and training on the use of PCs, software, and databases to staff as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Facilitates equipment for new employees, including phones, workstations, email and intranet access, printers, mobile devices, etc.
  • Provides technology orientation to new and existing staff
  • Maintains wireless (Wi-Fi) access and password for the division
  • Assists employees by investigating user problems to identify source and possible solutions, then aids in local testing and implementation of solutions
  • Installs, configures, upgrades, and maintains workstations, tablets, printers, and other hardware and software; resets passwords as necessary
  • Assists in initial setup of technology to be used by employees at the beginning of each program year
  • Provides training on the use of software systems
  • Maintains inventory of all technology equipment, including workstations, tablets, mobile devices, phones, etc.
  • Supports internet and communication systems
  • Other duties as assigned, such as providing general technician support on projects

EDUCATION

Requires High School diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of experience in a help desk or related position. Degree in Computer Technology or technical training in computer science or related field preferred.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to communicate technical information to nontechnical personnel
  • Ability to install, configure, and maintain computers, tablets, and other related hardware and software
  • Ability to identify and resolve or to escalate computer systems malfunction and operations problems
  • Ability to read computer instruction manuals and comprehend directions
  • Skills in organizing resources and establishing priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to learn and support new systems and applications
  • Strong aptitude in OS repairs, virus removal, and troubleshooting
  • Ability to obtain DoD security clearance, which includes US citizenship

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Familiarity with PDQ, SCCM, IBM Bigfix, NESSUS, ARCSERVE, PowerShell
  • Laboratory instrumentation and computer controls experience
