ThisMission Systems Engineer 5 will be the Program Manager and Mission Engineering Lead for the study phase of a technology development program. Responsibilities include interfacing with the customer; planning, tracking, and reporting financial status; and leading architecture trades, design analysis, and performance modeling through computer simulation. The individual will also be Deputy Program Manager and Systems Engineering Lead for the design phase of the program. Responsibilities include supporting the PM in interfacing with the customer; coordinating with the subcontractor and IWO sectors; and leading system engineering activities such as system architecture design, trade studies, specification development, requirement definition and allocation, performance analysis and simulation, system modeling and simulation tool development, and support to hardware design.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) field and 14 years of engineering experience in an aerospace environment OR a MS degree in a STEM field and 12 years of engineering experience in an aerospace environment, OR a PhD in a STEM field and 9 years of engineering experience in an aerospace environment.
  • Practical working experience with system architecture design, trade studies, and performance analysis and simulation
  • Musthave and be able to maintain an active U.S. Government security clearance at the Top Secret level with a background investigation date within 6 years, OR must have and be able to maintain an active U.S. Government SCI access with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within the last 5 years.



Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS or PhD in a STEM field
  • Strong leadership qualities including excellent organizational and communication skills
  • R&RP Special Missions Restricted Security Clearance
  • Experience interfacing with R&RP Special Missions Restricted Customer
