Staff Composites Structural Engineer (Must have current and active secret clearance to be considered)

Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems Group in Clearfield, Utah is seeking a Sr. Composite Structure Analysis Engineer to join our team in our Clearfield, UT offices.
Role description & Responsibilities:
Highly motivated structural analysis engineer with composite structures and assemblies for military and/or commercial aircraft.
The candidate should also have experience with the characterization of composite materials with ASTM standard tests.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the analysis of laminates, sandwich structures, bonded and bolted assemblies, and leading composite material characterization activities including: authoring test plans and test reports, data reduction and calculation of material allowables.
Experience Requirements:
  • MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE SECURITY CLEARANCE TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE
  • BSin Civil, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering or relatedwith a minimum of14years related experience indesignengineering function
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with Abaqus and/orNastran
  • Staticstructural and structural/thermal analysis
  • Buckling, stability, and modal analysis
  • Loadsdefinition
  • Material characterization testing
  • Knowledge of composite materials and manufacturing processes
  • Oraland written communication skills
  • Abilityto work in a fast paced dynamic environment as part of a multi-discipline team
    Experience Preferred:
  • Proficiencywith NX, Catia V5, Fibersim, MSC Marc,Altair Hyperworks/Optistruct, and Hypersizer are also desirable
  • Definitionof layups and ply patterns with Fibersim to generate finite element models
  • Script writing, workflow automation
  • Constitutive Model Development and implementation
  • Requirementsdefinition and verification
  • Previous experience in aerospace manufacturing facility
