Summary:

The SSIS/ Python Developer will be assignedto an Agile Scrum team that focus on the development of internal data migrationsoftware using SQL Server and SSIS. The SSIS/ Python Developer will providepeers with technical expertise that will offer solutions for difficultprogramming problems.

Duties andResponsibilities:

  • Collaboratewith Product Owners and Scrum team members to deliver high quality technicalsolutions to business requirements
  • DataDiscovery techniques and Data Modelling
  • Datawrangling to pull data together from disparate sources.
  • SQLServer administration, tuning, and workbench.
  • SQLServer Integration Services (SSIS) including UI and custom code features.
  • AWSinfrastructure functionality and configuration, installation as applied todatabases and specifically.
  • WritingSQL.
    Examine existing ETL scripts and track data back to source
    Work with business experts to understand data and complete data mappings.
  • Otherduties as assigned

MinimumQualifications: (Toperform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform eachessential duty satisfactorily.)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics,Mathematics, Computer Science or another quantitative field
    • Equivalentyears of experience may be used in lieu of degree
  • 4+ years of relevant experience withthe following software / tools:
    • Ability to writeor create stored procedures, SQL scripts, SSIS packages, etc. that can be usedto:
      • Move data fromsource databases to target databases
      • Clean / Conditiondata
      • Convert ortransform data
      • Reconcile andconfirm converted data
      • Find data errors
      • Validate data tobusiness rules
    • Priorexperience supporting IC/DoD
  • Experience in the design,deployment and support of a large data warehouse used agency wide for analytics
  • Active Top-Secret Clearance withability to obtain SCI

Knowledge, Skillsand Abilities:

  • Experiencein at least one scripting language desirable (PowerShell, Shell, PERL, Python).
  • Ability to work independently and yet be effective within a team setting
  • Must be capable of managing multiple efforts with time related constraints in a fast-paced contracting environment
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and individuals
  • Friendly presence, helpful attitude, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with others.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications
  • Experience working in a home office setting as well as the ability to train end users on frequently asked technical issues.
  • Ability to provide technical assistance and support over the phone; good phone skills, professional demeanor, previous customer service experience strongly desired.
  • Good problem-solving skills; ability to visualize a problem/situation and think abstractly to solve it

  • The employee will normally work ina temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure toelectronic office equipment.
