Sr. Principal Quality Analyst_San Diego

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems is looking for an MRB Analyst/Quality Engineer to support multiple programs at our Autonomous Systems Center of Excellence in Rancho Bernardo, CA.

Essential Functions:

As the MRB Analyst, the position holds the responsibility of ensuring the adherence to our nonconformance process.

The selected candidate will be responsible for processing internal and supplier non-conformances from initiation to closure, working closely with the various disciplines of Engineering, Manufacturing, Mission Assurance, Suppliers and Customers (DCMA/NAVAIR) and Sector MRB Chair.

The position will also facilitate corrective actions (internal/external) as required for product considered as repetitive defects.

Additional responsibility to support as Systems Applications and Products (SAP) Level 1 administrator. As the Level 1 administrator, you will be responsible for assisting with employees gaining access to the system (training, downloading of application, privileges and roles).

Other tasks and responsibilities may include creation of metrics, repetitive analysis on nonconforming data, auditing, Root Cause/Corrective Action.

Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product.

Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place.

Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.

Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.

Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.

May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.

May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degreewith a minimum of10 years (OR 7 years with aMaster's)in Quality Engineering in an aerospace environment with emphasis on Material Review Board (MRB) process
  • Ability to Obtain and Maintain a Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • STEM Degree
  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution System (MES) is strongly preferred
  • System Application Products (SAP) experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Execution of nonconforming process
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer
  • Six Sigma Green Belt preferred
  • Active Secret Clearance
