Sr Web Developer
Active Secret Clearance Required
Wiesbaden, Germany

 

Develops, codes, deploys and maintains web applications and websites. Perform software development tasks including analysis, design, development, unit and integration testing, troubleshooting and documentation. Provides application development and technical support for customer websites. Provides technical consultation in new systems development, new package evaluations and enhancements of existing systems. Prepares functional specifications from which programs will be written, then designs, codes, tests, debugs and documents programs. Participates in the technical design, development, testing, implementation and maintenance of website enhancements. Plans, schedules and conducts systems tests, monitors test results, and takes appropriate corrective action. May prepare technical user guides. May provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced staff.

 

The candidate will specifically:

- Develop Java and JavaScript code to enhance and integrate various US Command and Control Systems.
- Work on coordinated Agile development projects within a small group of system experts.
- Deploy on Exercises for system integration and system operations supporting both Unix/Linux and Microsoft environments.
- Ensure procedures for requirement collection, code development, coordination and code storage follow mandated procedures.
- Maintain and augment existing development projects.

 

Education

BA/BS or equivalent years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

A trained professional with at least 5 years of programming experience who applies advanced methods, theories, research, and training techniques to the solution of advanced web application design adn troubleshooting. Experience performing software development tasks including analysis, design, development, unit and integration testing, troubleshooting and documentation. Must demonstrate strong written communication skills to produce and deliver required reports and briefing materials.

Must have experience in the following:
- Understanding of both Waterfall and Agile development methodologies and processes.
- Experience implementing Agile methods and process to deliver desired end products.
- Advanced knowledge of Java 6 including supporting Java Collections Framework (JCF) and API supporting security, database interaction, web communication and data parsing. Experience with Java frameworks (ie. Spring) a plus.
- Knowledge of Java Application servers and Servlet Containers, especially Apache Tomcat and Jetty.
- Advanced knowledge of Geospatial concepts, imagery, overlays and tools supporting geo-based computations.
- Advanced JavaScript knowledge, AJAX, JQuery and associated JavaScript debugging capabilities.
- Web Services knowledge (SOAP and REST), Server Sent Events (SSE), and Web Sockets.
- Familiarity with version control system (Subversion, JIRA), and team collaboration software (Confluence), and ability to adhere to specified coding standards.
- Working understanding or administration experience of Army C4I systems/interfaces/data such as GCCS-J, GCCS-A or DDS a plus.
- Willingness to support Army C4I systems in a tactical environment.

 

- Candidate must be able to meet German TESA requirements.
- Candidate must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification on day 1.
- Candidate must obtain ITIL Foundation certification within 90 days of hire.
- Candidate must obtain one or more of the following certifications within 6 months of hire: Agile, SCRUM, Java, PMP, CAPM.

 

German TESA requirements:

- A bachelors degree plus 3 years of recent specialized experience, OR;
- An associates degree plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR;
- A major certification plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR;
- 11 years of recent specialized experience.
