Sr. VOIP Engineer

GCS is seeking a Sr. Voice/Collaboration Network Engineer based in Kuwait to support Enterprise-wide administration and engineering of the classified and unclassified communications networks for the military throughout Southwest Asia. The Sr. Collaboration Engineers duties will consist of day-to-day operations, maintenance, monitoring, upgrades, and problem determination and resolution, of the CENTCOM classified and unclassified Voice/IP Telephony architecture. This individual will be responsible for the engineering of communications needs using SATCOM, Microwave, or optical transport. This individual should have Enterprise level IP Telephony engineering and administration experience: Call Routing, Design, Configuration, troubleshooting and support of mid to large-sized network environments. Daily activities also require a solid understanding of voice technologies, including Cisco Call manager and voice gateways including TDM, SIP, H.323, Gatekeepers, Gateways, Unity Connection, and Presence, etc.. is highly desired. The successful candidate will also monitor networks, review network performance reports and define action plans for improvements. The candidate will work under the immediate supervision of a military shift leader or other contract personnel designated by the PM.

•Active SECRET Clearance with SSBI.
•A minimum of six years professional experience.
•Degree or equivalent experience.
•DoDD 8570 IAT Level 2 Compliance within 1 months of initial hire.
•Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) preferably CCNA/NP Collaboration.
•Diagram and Document per ARCENT standard.
•Experience with Cisco Voice and Unified Communications.
•Strong Cisco IPT background, with experience in cisco based product line.
•IP routing and switching knowledge to plan, design, and support voice on the network.
•Support CUCM 8.6 and 11.5
•Install and configure Cisco routers to support SRST, SIP and H.323 dial-peers.
•Will be required to implement new configurations based on design specifications.
•Good understanding of Cisco UCS environment and ESX-i
•Familiar with IPSEC and Type-1 HAIPE encryption, GRE tunneling.
•Ability to perform the following tasks within a local network architecture: infrastructure design, engineering, implementation, and troubleshooting.
•Able to meet overseas medical deployment qualifications.
•Willing to travel with the military to locations throughout Southwest Asia, as required, to support the military customer at their location(s) via military air/land convoy.
•Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
•Ability to work in a bivouac environment.
•Willing to travel to overseas locations for a 1 year unaccompanied deployment.
•Ability to maintain a professional and courteous manner in difficult situations.


•Cisco Certified Network Professional - CCNP Voice or Collaboration.
•Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP).
•Experience with encryption hardware and technologies.
•Ability to take ownership of, and focus on critical initiatives.
•Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills. Ability to maintain high quality work to manage multiple critical projects.
•Ability to perform and participate in a team oriented environment.
•Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of users.
•Excellent customer service skills and demeanor.
