Sr Tech Training Specialist

The Whole Life Engineering Directorate (WLED) is made up of several disciplines whose main objective is to influence hardware and systems early in their life cycle to assure effective operation, reliability, maintainability and economical ownership by the customer and end user.

The candidate will regularly interact with the Program and Functional leadership on strategy, status, and direction. In addition, the candidate will work closely with Engineering, Quality, Safety, and IIS teams to apply disciplined program management processes and utilize tools to establish and monitor metrics and trends to ensure excellence in execution. The Lead will:

  • Develop and adjust Technical Manual (TM) schedules
  • Provide technical and programmatic oversight to a subcontractor or remote Raytheon business partner for the development of training material, development of technical manuals, and/or conduct of training
  • Coordinate access to all system resources for team members
  • Utilize analytical skillsets to review generated material, determine required subject matter expert inputs, and interpret engineering technical data
  • Ensure costs are within budget and schedule
  • Monitor status of other program deliverables for which TMs are dependent on source materials
  • Fulfill Statement of Work Requirements with baseline plan and recovery approaches
  • Generate and refine Scope of Work (SOW) to subcontractors
  • Prepare and submit TM Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL)
  • Assess Risk and Opportunity analysis and management
  • Provide productivity and status input to Monthly Operating Reviews and Metric Collection
  • Ensure regular communications flows between the program office, the core execution team, WLED, and technical manual developers
  • Periodic CONUS and OCONUS travel, up to 15%


Required Skills:
  • 4 years of experience related to this job description
  • Demonstrate assigned tasks are effectively executing work to deliver on-budget, on-time, correct, high quality, complete work products
  • Knowledge of product life cycle management
  • Prior technical leadership experience and leading other team members during problem resolution
Desired Skills:
  • Experience with presentations and data analysis skills
  • Ability to obtain Secret security clearance
  • Prior experience developing technical documentation for the Department of Defense or foreign military customers
  • R6s Specialist (or other similar certification)
  • Participation in proposal processes to develop and review cost estimates/proposals packages
  • Understanding of Earned Value fundamentals and project budgetary management experience
  • Prior Military experience
Required Education (including Major):
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, logistics, business or a related field, or 8 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. (Two years related work experience can substitute for one year of education)
