Sr Tech Support Engineer I - Assembly Lab

Raytheon Company is searching for an experienced Senior Technical Support Engineer (assembly technician) to join our multi-disciplined microelectronics team in Andover, MA. The Microelectronics Engineering & Technology (MET) Department develops, designs and manufactures compound semiconductor devices, millimeter/microwave integrated circuits (MMICs) and modules for defense applications. The assembly lab is key to facilitating the development of new GaN technology as various process improvements and designs require custom fixturing and multiple development phases. To keep up with the dynamic nature of the Raytheon business, the engineering assembly lab is responsible for reliability fixturing, engineering development modules, as well as engineering fixtures and other tasks. The team works seamlessly to deliver the fixtures and modules needed to make decisions and collect important data for numerous development, process, and design efforts.

This role is specifically for a senior Technical Support Engineer (assembly technician) that can train new employees, as well as collaborate with various engineers to improve upon existing fixtures for new types of developmental processes. The job will require assembly experience so that the basics are second nature, and offering suggestions and process improvement with new projects is part of the normal work flow. Many projects in the initial stages need to decide the process guidelines and materials used as well as the feasibility, and the technician in this role needs to be confident in asserting their opinions and using their knowledge of the job to make new projects successful. In addition, this role will need to manage the daily priorities in the manual assembly side of the lab where there are both engineering and reliability fixtures being built, all of which need to remain on track to meet schedule. This role would also need to aid in making the assembly lab audit ready.
