Sr. Systems/Network Engineer IRES

Descriptions of Duties: Server Network/Systems Engineer specializing in Windows and Linux Systems Management in support of Missile Defense Agency; TC Tech Lab (located in Huntsville, AL). Primary duties include a daily battle-rhythm of checks on both Microsoft Windows, Red Hat Linux systems and network communication devices to include patch management activities in both test and production environments. This support includes network and related hardware support in an engineering test and production environment. Server Network/Systems Engineer will perform engineering analysis of current configuration and proposed configurations to ensure compatibility and Cyber Readiness within the overall system. The selected applicant must assist in daily reviews of systems to ensure normal maintenance functions are performing properly as well as execution of daily/weekly system health checks/checklists. The Server Network/Systems Engineer must have experience of networking protocols and networking equipment particular helpful experience with Cisco products such as firewalls, switches and routers. There is a mix of Windows and RH Linux operating systems that the Engineer will support along with various NAS and SAN devices including specialty arrays including, but not limited to, EMC ISILON and other raid file systems. The Engineer must have experience conducting system audit log reviews as well as continuous security monitoring using legacy LEM, HBSS, SCAP and ACAS as required to meet DoD and MDA Cybersecurity requirements. The Server Network/Systems Engineer will be required to coordinate efforts with TC Lab management and other work center personnel to prevent mission critical test and production schedule impacts on lab systems and supporting infrastructure. The Server Network/Systems Engineer will be required to assist with engineering support documents that represent proposed changes through the TC Lab Configuration Management process and Change Advisory Board. Primary duty hours fall between 0730 and 1630 (CT) with on-call and after-hours work required to assist with maintenance activities. Other duties as assigned.

Basic Requirements: High School Diploma (or GED) with 16 years of general experience and/or an Associate's degree with 14 years of general experience and/or a Bachelor's degree with 12 years general experience; must include 8 years directly related experience and 5 years in management or leadership roles. Must have experience managing Windows/LINUX servers/systems, with a working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory. Must have experience with Windows Server 2008 R2/2012 file/system storage administration, Symantec backup Exec, SCCM patch management, multiple CAD software(s), Optical Signatures Code, Trajectory tool software, Cubit and Xpatch for RHEL and Windows. Must have experience with Raid array file system management, Vtrak E830f and J630s Raid arrays, Dell PowerEdge R910 and SpectraLogic T200. Must have a strong networking background with an emphasis on security and a strong analytical background with accompanying troubleshooting skills. Strong communication skills also required. Candidate must have DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification such as CompTIA Security+ with CE. Must have an active DoD Secret Security clearance
