SAIC is seeking a qualified candidate to provide Battlefield Systems Engineering Services (BSES) support for the U.S. Army Future Command, Combat Capabilities Development Command, Aviation & Missile Technical Center, System, Simulation & Software Integration (S3I). 
 
The selected candidate will work with engineers, logisticians, and training professionals performing software engineering, suitability, supportability, and sustainment support for the software and firmware configuration items within the various missiles, trainers, test assets, and components of the Air-to-Ground Missile Systems (AGMS).  The acquired support will span the entire life cycle of systems for which S3I has responsibility.  S3I customers include Department of Defense (DOD) components, other Federal government agencies, Cooperative Research and Development and Education Agreement partners, and Foreign Military Sales.
 
Responsibilities Include:
  • Provide engineering and systems engineering support for software maintenance efforts related to the Joint Attack Munition Systems (JAMS) AGMS Post Production Software Support (PPSS). 
  • Develop and analyze system level architectures and lower level decomposed architectures to meet system and performance requirements of the HELLFIRE II missile system, the Longbow HELLFIRE missile system, and the M299 Longbow HELLFIRE Launcher system.
  • Perform software/system requirements analysis and development to meet S3I customer requirements for the software/systems in addition to performing software testing and verification. Test procedures and results will be input into the government’s test tracking and management tools.  
  • Testing will include unit tests, integration tests, continuous automated tests, code quality/standard conformance verification, and formal qualification/acceptance tests.  Systems requirement analysis may also be based on change requests to prior versions for sustainment activities. 
                                                                                                                                             
Specific Duties Include:
  • Develop, install, checkout, and maintain tactical, Government-owned, and commercial hardware and software as part of the System/Software Support Environment (SSSE)
  • Participate in managing changes to baselines and coordinate with the S3I Configuration and Data Management (CADM) office using CADM policies, procedures, and tools
  • Coordinate with the S3I CADM office, create release builds for software testing and fielding
  • Build, fabricate, maintain, repair, and test hardware, equipment, and cabling in the JAMS Software Laboratory within the S3I Complex
  • Build, fabricate, maintain, repair, and test hardware, equipment, and cabling in the JAMS Software Laboratory within the S3I Complex
  • Conduct assessments of existing systems/software to provide recommendations on product enhancements and improvements
  • Evaluate, develop, maintain, and implement a system design for the requirements
  • Perform software testing and verification and input results into government’s test tracking tools
  • Analyze tactical systems to capture requirements and design of the HELLFIRE II missile system
  • Develop and analyze system level architectures and lower level decomposed architectures to meet system and performance requirements of the HELLFIRE II missile system
  • Perform maintenance of the system software for the HELLFIRE II missile system to include bug fixes, enhancements, and updates
  • Develop and analyze system level architectures and lower level decomposed architectures to meet system and performance requirements of the Longbow HELLFIRE missile system
  • Demonstrate the capability of the development environment to replicate the fielded software versions of the Longbow HELLFIRE missile system
  • Perform maintenance of the system software for the M299 Longbow HELLFIRE Launcher system. Software maintenance includes bug fixes, enhancements, and updates
  • Deliver accurate program status reporting to senior leadership and the customer

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 

Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience

 

Required Skills:
  • Systems engineering with software development experience, experience with embedded software, and/or electrical engineering background
  • Experience tracking requirements preferably within DOORS
  • Software development capabilities specifically experience with C++ and familiarity with multiple languages
  • Detailed oriented and familiar with software independent verification and validation concepts
  • Technical writing and research acumen
  • Self-motivated. Works well with others, but can work independently

  • Must be United States citizen
  • Must possess a current DoD Secret Clearance
  • Must possess an SSBI that is current within the last 5 years
 
Travel: Five (5) percent travel or less may be required
