Sr Systems Engineer II - Requirements and Architecture Engineer

The Systems Architecture, Design and Integration Directorate (SADID) is looking for a Requirements and Architecture Engineer to join the Multi-Function Radio Frequency System (MFRFS) Systems Engineering team. The candidate must have a background in military systems development, including large system design and development, sensor processing hardware/software, modeling, simulation, and systems requirements and architecture development. The Requirements and Architecture Systems Engineer will be responsible for developing system requirements, conducting performance trades and performing analysis of alternatives studies to define product architectures for MFRFS products.

This role can be Salary Grade G09 or G10 depending on the Candidate's skills and experience.


Job Description:

The Requirements and Architecture Systems Engineer will support the MFRFS product line and responsibilities will include;
•Perform simulation development and analysis of alternatives to define architectures for MFRFS products in support of continuous product line growth.
•Collaborate with HW (Mechanical and Electrical) and Software engineers on requirements and balance technical performance parameters to arrive at optimal product designs.
•Conduct requirements analysis, requirements management using DOORS, execution of trade studies, and radar performance analysis
•Team with integrated design on reviews across other disciplines and technical engagement with the customer and engineering leadership.
•Travel to remote test field sites to support program requirements as needed.

Required Skills:
•6+ years of Engineering experience working with requirements and architecture development of complex systems.
•Experience with system architecture including technical performance measure optimization including radar performance parameters, environmental requirements, and physical characteristics such as size, weight and power, reliability and trade study development.
•Experience with RF Systems Requirements Development, Analysis and Management.
•Experience with mathematical simulation development (e.g. Matlab, Mathematica, or simulation programming).
•Experience with developing technical documentation that includes system concept of operations and design descriptions for Radar development programs.
Must have an existing Secret level security clearance or be able to obtain a security clearance.

Desired Skills:

•Experience with the development of technical presentations and presenting to leadership and customers.
•Experience with RF environmental requirements such as Electro-Magnetic Interference (EMI), Electro-Magnetic Environmental Effects (E3) and environmental requirements verification.
•Experience with test equipment, test software, and troubleshooting.
•Experience with Requirements Management using the Dynamic Object Oriented Requirements System (DOORS).
•Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques and cost proposal basis of estimate development.
•Experience developing interface requirements specifications and interface control documents for software and electrical subsystems.
•Experience with the IPDS gating and artifact generation process.
•Experience with Active Electronically Scanned Antenna (AESA) technology.
•Master’s Degree in Engineering, or related discipline.


Required Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, Physics, Science or related discipline.


This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.
