Sr Systems Engineer I

Exciting opportunities currently exist within SADID’s Integrated Air and Missile Defense Systems (IAMDS) Department to design and develop sophisticated tactical defense systems for both domestic and international customers.SADID welcomes you to join our tradition of achieving excellence through team work while leveraging individual diversity.

This position can be a Salary Grade E03 or E04 based on the candidate’s qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.

Job Description:

·Perform Systems Engineering tasks related to Air Defense Systems in the area of Battle Management Command Control Communications Computers and Intelligence (BMC4I)

oSystems Engineering Studies / Trades to determine solutions to technical issues

oSystem Requirements Definition and Analysis

oRequirements Documentation Updates

oSystem Integration and Analysis

oSystem Test and Analysis

·Work in coordination with the Program office to interact with customer and end-user representatives in developing system requirements

Basic Qualifications:

·Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, or Mathematics area

·Experience in requirements development and/or design of system level software architecture

·Proven ability to develop, document, and maintain processes, methods and tools

·Excellent communication, technical writing, oral presentation, and interpersonal skills

·Proven ability to interface with customers and lead technical solutions to complex user requirements

·Ability to obtain a DOD Secret Clearance

Desired Qualifications:

·Proven ability to develop system and subsystem performance and test requirements, evaluate systems and subsystems interfaces, or design and integrate systems or subsystems using COTS/government supplied equipment

·Proven experience with current air defense programs with specific experience in large, complex systems

·Experience as a User Interface/User Experience designer with an ability to apply real user feedback into designs

·Previous military service with US Army PATRIOT system

·Understanding of defense design / planning process

·Minimum of 4-plus years of hands-on experience in execution of design, development, and analysis of large system architectures

·Existing DOD Secret Clearance or greater (or ability to obtain)

·Experience leading a multi-disciplined, technical team with the ability to develop, empower, motivate and monitor the team

·Experience managing an engineering budget

·Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, DOORS, UML, and Rational System Architect

·Strong analytic, technical and problem solving skills

·Knowledge in MATLAB tools
