Raytheon IIS is seeking an Automation SW Engineer for the Apex Program’s Automation team.

The Automation Team is responsible for introducing schedule, cost and quality improvements across all the program IPTs and processes via automation and tooling. The Apex Automation Team is looking across the entire program and introducing the latest tooling, methodologies and processes to ensure the program meets and exceeds schedule and quality commitments while reducing cost. The Automation Team does not see impediments but rather opportunities and our work directly affects the success of the program.

TheApex Automation Team needs a SW Engineer to support its modernization initiatives. The Automation SW Engineer will help design, prototype and develop capabilities to reduce manual toil, handoffs, redundancy, development time and deployment time. The Automation SW Engineer will improve program tooling and DevOps maturity / adoption. The Automation SW Engineer should have great communication skills, a very positive attitude and problem-solving abilities to provide innovative, simple and elegant ways to solve complex problems (we are an Engineering company after all).

Required Skills:
  • Active TS/SCI level clearance
  • 6+ years of demonstrated engineering experience in software engineering
  • Knowledge and experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery concepts
  • Knowledge and experience configuring and using Jenkins continuous integration server (including Jenkins pipelines)
  • Experience in one of Java, C++ C# or GoLang
  • Experience with an xUnit Testing framework such as Junit or GoogleUnit.
  • Experience with a code-coverage tool such as JaCoCo or Emma or gcov.
  • Experience with XML and / or JSON
  • Experience with Python scripting (including REST API invocation and JSON building / parsing)
  • Experience with RedHat / CentOS / Fedora Linux and a Linux shell-scripting language
  • Knowledge of REST APIs and invocation programmatically
  • Familiarity with the Atlassian tool suite
  • Familiarity with Artifactory and SW release assembly concepts
  • Knowledge or experience with Groovy programming (especially used with Jenkins)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to interact and present technical concepts to other engineers and management
  • Some knowledge of satellite ground systems, including hardware, software, and communications architecture.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills with a positive attitude
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with multiple competing priorities and deadline constraints requiring rapid turnarounds
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of tools (including Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint)
  • US Citizenship required

Desired Skills:
  • Knowledge or experience writing test bindings for Cucumber or a similar testing SW
  • Knowledge of DevOps methodologies
  • Knowledge or experience with Perl scripting
  • Knowledge of Agile SW Development
  • Knowledge of and experience with micro service architectures
  • Knowledge of and experience with cloud computing architectures
  • Qualified Raytheon Six Sigma Specialist or equivalent

B.S./B.A. in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Math, or a science
