This position is eligible for a Sign on Bonus of up to 40k for a candidate with a current TS/SCI that can be verified and hired at Raytheon.



Job Description:
Raytheon Technologies seeks a qualified Electrical Engineer to provide support to our ground antenna hardware engineering team. The Electrical Engineer will support development for new work and troubleshooting of existing operational antenna ground system assets. Efforts will include assessing new products and technologies and developing and implementing appropriate HW solutions across multiple systems and platforms, and in some cases providing subject matter expertise to the subcontract management team. An active US Government TS/SCI clearance is required as of day one for this position (US Citizenship required).

Responsibilities of this position included, but are not limited to:
  • Perform hardware RF/Electrical Engineering design and analyses of electrical systems (e.g., link analyses, gain distributions, distortion parameter allocations, architecture trades) to meet requirements
  • Prepare hardware electrical specifications for subsystems and procurement specifications for subcontractors
  • Develop and evaluate system architectures, designs, and interfaces that meet system specifications
  • Prepare and present hardware specifications and design analyses in customer and program reviews
  • Participate in trade studies and vendor/product selection
  • Support design, integration and verification activities as an electrical Subject Matter Expert (SME)
  • Develop electrical drawings for ground equipment systems (CAD capability not required).

Required Skills:
  • RF communications or Electrical Engineering system design Experience
  • General knowledge of common information system (compute and network) hardware interfaces
  • Experience verifying hardware subsystem requirements
  • Experience using electrical test equipment (i.e., spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, power meters)
  • Experience writing and reviewing manuals, procedures, plans, specifications, engineering drawings and notebooks
  • Experience presenting technical information to an audience
  • Able to travel on occasion, domestically or internationally for up to 4 weeks
  • Active US Government TS/SCI security clearance (US Citizenship required)
  • 6 years of related work experience

Desired Skills:
  • Knowledge of Satellite Ground Station architectures and designs
  • Experience using and configuring baseband hardware (e.g. modulators, demodulators, frame synchronizers)
  • Experience troubleshooting satellite ground station systems
  • Experience with Ground Terminal Hardware/RF Design testing
  • Experience with Linux-based systems
  • Experience performing trade studies; identifying potential vendors; and recommending solutions
  • Experience with developing the Bill of Material (BOM) required to produce a hardware product; initiating the purchasing process; and monitoring procurement and logistics progress
  • Ability to understand requirement-based architectures including interface definition and parts selection with consideration given to environmental variables, safety, site constraints and lessons learned
  • Experience with requirements management throughout the product development lifecycle

Required Education:
BS in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Physics), and 6 years of related work experience.
