Senior Principal Software Engineer: Software Product Owner – Radar Software

Job Summary:
We are hiring a Senior-level Software Product Owner for the TPY-2 Radar software team in Fullerton, California. The Software Product Owner provides technical domain knowledge and leadership for development and maintenance of the radar software within an agile development environment.

TPY-2 is a rapidly relocatable ballistic missile defense radar used by the United States and its allies. Our software teams employ an Agile Scrum process to rapidly design, code, and integrate capabilities on a continuous basis into a mature solution for our customers. We strive for technical excellence by drawing upon a diverse work force whose knowledge base covers the complete spectrum of modern computing languages and platforms.

The Software Product Owner will utilize high level design, software development, integration, and testing of real-time AN/TPY-2 Radar software. The Software Product Owner will be responsible for architectural design, application design, and implementation of new features for one of the engineering scrum teams for the Radar software. The Software Product Owner also will investigate anomalies and recommend solutions. Our radar software applications are developed using Ada, C and C++programming languages Dell x86 servers with a customized version of RedHat Linux.

The Software Product Owner will be expected to be a key contributor for complex development tasks and be able to provide technical leadership in multiple areas of software engineering. This position requires understanding of real-time software design and the ability to recognize the performance implications associated with specific detail implementations. The Software Product Owner will require the ability to understand the “big picture” of the radar system and also be able to develop or review detail solutions at the source code level. The Software Product Owner will provide technical leadership as the Product Owner of one of the TPY-2 engineering teams, coordinating the definition of capabilities and features necessary for meeting new system requirements. Position includes leading software design, code and test reviews, prioritizing features, and developing test strategies. The Software Product Owner will also support system level integration, problem investigations and resolution.

This position will require an ACTIVE DoD security clearance; only US Citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Required Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Science or related STEM field.
