Sr Principal Multi-Dis Eng - THAAD Radar Integrated Product Team

Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems is looking for a Senior Principle Multi-Disciplined Engineer within the Whole Life Engineering Directorate (WLED). The Whole Life Engineering Directorate (WLED) is made up of multiple disciplines across a global footprint. WLED influences system architectures as well as hardware and software designs early in their life cycle to assure effective, reliable, safe maintainable, and economical ownership by the customer and end user. Supporting this mission are teams providing domain expertise and creative solutions in life cycle cost modeling, reliability, safety, human system integration, component selection and obsolescence mitigation, maintenance planning, logistics product data development, technical manual and field bulletin development, operator and maintainer training development and conduct, spares analysis, return and repair management, organizational, intermediate, and depot level maintenance including Major Equipment Item (MEI) modernization, operational manpower and personnel staffing, and support equipment identification and delivery.

The THAAD Integrated Product Team (IPT) resides within the Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) program. The THAAD IPT lead is responsible for leading a cross functional and cross business team as well as subcontractors and suppliers to achieve technical, cost, and schedule requirements as well as customer satisfaction for the CONUS based THAAD Radars which are presently located at various DoD facilities.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Driving flawless technical, schedule, and cost performance of contracts Integrating key business activities into a seamless business that can leverage best practices, people skills and cross utilization of assets
  • Managing future proposals, developing proposal timelines and program Integrated Master Plan/Integrated Master Schedule. Developing and partnering customer proposals, white papers, statements of work and Basis of Estimates Achieving Engineering, Missile Defense Program area and CLS program goals aimed at improving
  • Interface with the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) customer to optimize products and solutions in support of achieving maximum Operational Readiness and compliance to contractual requirements
  • Establish and/or grow business relationships, respond to customer needs in a timely manner, identify customer needs and value propositions, address complex technical requirements, and lead a globally diverse team to achieve business objectives
  • Champion Raytheon’s vision and values to achieve the most effective solutions to meet customer needs and grow the business
  • Domestic travel will be required
This position requires an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Required Skills:
  • Current active US Secret Security Clearance
  • 10+ years relevant industry and/or military sustainment experience including radar and/or sensor systems
  • Experience using program management tools such as Earned Value Management System (EVMS) or equivalent tools
Desired Skills:
  • Experience in using Integrated Master Plan (IMP) / Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), Risk and Opportunity Management to identify issues and develop implement courses of action
  • 4+ years of IPT Leadership or related experience leading cross functional teams
  • Experience with DOD sustainment programs
  • Solid understanding of application and execution of Raytheon’s Integrated Product Development System (IPDS) or similar business processes
  • Demonstrated consistency, accountability and flexibility managing multiple and competing priorities
  • Direct experience managing cross functional teams and delivering products and services
  • Demonstrated track record of developing customer relationships to meet contractual requirements and capture the full potential of follow-on business
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic development and / or contract capture in the Defense Industry
  • Ability to lead, along with peers, the development of long range plans to capitalize on future opportunities
  • Ability to work across business areas, manage diverse tasks, requirements and commitments and interface successfully with numerous disciplines
  • Ability to overcome obstacles and negotiate change Demonstrated strong communication skills
  • Demonstrated comprehensive planning skills with the ability to analyze technical and financial data and reports Exceptional judgment and decision-making
  • PMX Level 4 Certification or equivalent, or the ability to obtain PMX Level 4 Certification within one year of being in role
  • Established relationship with Missile Defense Agency customer
  • Prior experience with Department of Defense Radar Sustainment Programs
  • Demonstrated experience with Gate Reviews
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with senior levels of leadership effectively – including customer, Raytheon, teammates, and suppliers Experience as an IPT/CPT/WLEL Lead Experience with Engineering PMER, SBT and ELF tools
  • Knowledgeable of the Raytheon IDS business process used for proposals Experience with Risk/Opportunity Management tools and processes
  • Detailed knowledge of IDS policies and procedures and organizational structure
  • Demonstrated broad-based technical background and troubleshooting and strong grasp of engineering fundamentals with comparable progression of management responsibilities
Required Education:
  • BA/BS with major in business, science, mathematics, operations, engineering or related discipline. 8+ years of equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a BA/BS
