Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems located in San Diego, CA has an immediate opening for an Engineer Systems Test 4 to work on the Global Hawk program.
Essential Functions:
Test Engineering synthesizes customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledges technical, schedule and cost constraints. Develops and directs preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for completing systems. Coordinates integrated testing activities. Reviews and evaluates test requirements to insure completeness of test program. Performs technical analysis of complete systems and prepares comprehensive system level evaluations.
Test Engineering Responsibilities on Global Hawk Program include the following:
  1. Act as the primary point of contact (POC)within the Global Hawk (GH) Test Organization for the assigned project or program. As the POC, communicate effectively with management, customers, and peers.
  2. Support the GH Integrated Test Team (ITT)and act as the Northrop Grumman representative to the ITT for the assigned project or program. Work closely with the USAF test organizations responsible for test execution.
  3. Maintain a technical understanding of the assigned project or program, and related Statement of Work. Act as the POC for all associated test reporting requirements.
  4. Coordinate test planning activityfor Laboratory andFlight Test Operations, Instrumentation, and Responsible Engineers. Identify and coordinate the availability of test resources. Participate or conduct Flight and Test Readiness Reviews. Participate in flight test execution, including pre and post-test briefings, and assist with conducting ground and flight tests. Participate in post-test data evaluation and discrepancy resolution.
  5. Support production test planning, coordination and execution.
  6. Support operational test planning and execution
  7. Participate in Integrated Master Schedule creation and updates, EVMS reporting, proposal and change activities, risk management, IFC planning and coordination, and long term planning for the GH program.
This positionis based in San Diego, but will require travel to test sites at Palmdale, Edwards Air Force Base, and other sites as required.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline along with 9+ years ofengineering experience, or Master's degree in a STEM discipline along with 7+ years of engineering experience, or a PhD along with 4+ years of aircraft engineering experience
  • Active Department of Defense Interim Secret Clearance or higher
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Extensive Experience in Test Program Execution
    Knowledge of the DoD acquisition program and its application to contracts
    Understanding ofverification program and metrics development
    Proven ability to manage program proposal and change management
    DoD Top Secret Clearance
