Sr Principal Engr Sys Test

Our employees are not only part of history, they’re making history.   Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Principal Flight Test Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located temporarily in Melbourne, Florida until approximately May, 2020 before transitioning to Palmdale, California (permanently).  Travel between Melbourne, FL and Palmdale, CA may then be approximately 50%.   The selected candidate will develop and publish Integrated Test Plans, detailed test plans, test schedules, and test procedures for developmental testing.   Essential Functions: - Provides laboratory support for integration testing - Supports and hosts test planning working groups - Interfaces with test article design and analysis teams to define test configuration and data requirements - Reviews and evaluates test requirements to ensure completeness of test program - Performs technical analysis of complete systems and prepares comprehensive system level evaluations - Supports test card development and review in collaboration with other engineering disciplines and test operations personnel - Supports test readiness reviews, and pre/post-test briefings - Provides mission control room support and makes real-time decisions regarding safety, efficiency, and effectiveness - Conducts and contributesBasic Qualifications: - Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) related discipline and 9+ years of integration and/or test engineering experience  OR- Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 7+ years of integration and/or test engineering experience OR- PhD Degree in a STEM discipline with 5+ years experience - The ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret or Top Secret Clearance as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs. - Overtime, odd shifts, and weekend work will occasionally be required - Ability to work temporarily in Melbourne, Florida (~12-24 months), before transitioning to Palmdale, California (permanently) Preferred Qualifications: - Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD Degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering or Cybersecurity Technology - In depth knowledge of or direct experience with all aspects of test programs to include control room monitoring of test operations - Technical expertise in at least one of the following disciplines: Radar, EW, Communications / Navigation / IDD, Guidance and Control, Mission Planning, Cybersecurity, Mission Systems, Air Vehicle Subsystems - Professional experience with Integrated Analysis & Data System (IADS), Visio, or CATIA  - Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Willing to learn additional engineering discipline area - Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management - Current DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance   Northrop Grumman is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
