Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal Engineering Research Development Specialist to work with our team of qualified, diverse individuals based in the Washington DC Metro Area.
The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Cyber and Intelligence Solutions Division engaged in designing and fabricating limited run products for USG customers.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Must have the ability to use a variety of hand and power tools.
Support customer's mission requirements
Design and fabricate unique, limited run products
Maintain records of products created as well as library of archival molds

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degreeand 9+ years of overall experience.
Artistic hand skills; sculptural ability (have them sculpt an ear, hand, etc.)
Candidate should have working knowledge of photogrammetric and laser scanning, digital design, and #-D printing (CAD, Maya, Zbush or compatible experience a plus)
Candidate will have molding experience. Understanding of silicone, urethane, gypsum and epoxy techniques a plus.
Candidate should have a solid understanding of human facial anatomy
Active TS/SCI w/poly clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Technical knowledge/experience in processes common in a prototyping facility.
Experience researching, sourcing, and maintaining production material inventory.
Demonstrated ability to adhere to specific detailed technical requirements.
Ability to manage time effectively across multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Capable of following directions accurately and responding well to feedback and critique.
Willingness to learn and keep current with new software and techniques
Candidate will generate 3D printable models and molds using 3D scan data of physical objects as well as original 3D rendered models
Familiarity with UV mapping is a plus
Capable of adapting standard practices to work within a dynamic environment
Able to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
Good communications skills, both written and verbal, and capable of identifying salient characteristics of a problem and integrating them into a successful solution.
