Sr. Principal Engineer Mechanical (VMS RE)

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems located in Palmdale, CA has an opening for a Senior Principal Mechanical Engineer (VMS RE). The selected candidate will oversee the Vehicle Management System of program assets.
Essential Functions:
- Responsibilities include developing Vehicle Management Systems architecture and performing Vehicle Management System analysis, developing requirements, creating supplier procurement specifications and statements of work.
- The successful candidate must have experience working with diverse technical teams, and must also be experienced with the design, analysis and/or test of flight hardware.
- Experience with flight hardware acceptance testing and documentation is preferred.
- Apply extensive technical expertise, and has full knowledge of other related disciplines. Able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings.
- Develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
- Perform work without appreciable direction. Exercise considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment.
Basic Qualifications:
- BS in a STEM (Science, Technology,Engineering, or Math) disciplinefrom an accredited university with 9+ Years of experience; 7+ Years with Masters; 4+ Years with PhD.
- Active DoD Secret Clearance or higher with ability to obtain and maintain PAR
- Experience using modeling and simulation software
- Experience with the design, analysis and/or test of flight hardware

Preferred Qualifications:
- MS in Engineering from an accredited university
- 10+ Years of experience with Vehicle Management Systems
- Experience with flight hardware acceptance testing and documentation
- Active DoD Top Secret/SCI with PAR
