Sr. Principal Electronics Engineer

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for an Electrical Engineer to join our team of highly skilled and motivated engineers at Northrop Grumman's Autonomous Design Center of Excellence (AD CoE) in San Diego, California.

The AD CoE Electronics and Payloads directorate is a rapidly growing organization within NGAS, responsible for delivering innovative and effective ground and airborne mission subsystem and UAS control solutions for our system operators' current and emerging missions by utilizing industry leading processes and tools.

From the legacy Global Hawk to new platforms, NGAS systems are used by US and International customers in operations all around the worldevery day. Our team of Engineers and Technicians are continually expanding mission capabilities by developing and delivering products such as: avionics and airborne payloads, UAS ground stations, and integrated and deployed networks with advanced digital secure communications.

As an engineer you will be assigned to an Integrated Product Team on one of our major autonomous system programs such as Global Hawk, Triton, or Fire Scout. The E&P teams are responsible for a variety of electronics subsystems that include RF Communications, IP Networks, Payloads, and Ground Control Stations. You'll be exposed to a variety of different tasks such as design, project engineering, system integration, supplier management, requirements verification, test & evaluation, subsystem delivery, and operational support.

Basic Qualifications:


* Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field from an accredited university

* Minimum of 9 Years of STEM related experience or 7 years with a Master's Degree or 4 years and PhD

* Ability to obtain DoD Security Clearance


Preferred Qualification:

  • Experience working with electrical subsystems

  • Drafting or 3D modeling experience

  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance
  • Good technical writing skills
