Sr. Plan Prod Control Speciali

Job Description:
The Senior Planning and Production Control Specialist will perform a variety of technical and business tasks in support of production programs. This individual will manage multiple assemblies and the associated tasks listed below are necessary in order to prevent a work stoppage or a slip in schedule, both of which would have a significant impact to the program’s cost and schedule requirements.

Tasks include, but are not limited to the following:

  • The individual will review plans, prepare, issue, and control production schedules and changes associated with his/her assemblies. Insufficient planning on the part of this individual could have a negative impact on the program meeting financial and schedule requirements
  • Evaluate and coordinate material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production/customer requirements
  • Evaluate the status and assemblies that are in progress, material availability, and potential production problems. Insufficient evaluation on the part of this individual could impact the work being performed and possibly cause a work stoppage
  • Solve any potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed
  • Control and analyze multiple and moderate complexity bill of materials in an MRP system
  • Schedule equipment and personnel, confirm material supply demand, and prepare necessary work orders based on shop load and inventory requirements
  • Schedule and expedite the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers, and requests for shipping orders
  • Responsible for the material tracking from purchase order release to the receipt of the material
  • Propose solutions to mitigate any work stoppage the factory teams may experience due to any slips in material orders
  • Interface with internal and external customers
  • Authorize factory work via assembly work orders and follows that through to completion
    Based on the individual’s detailed inventory analysis, the individual will prepare purchase requests for the production or purchase of components or parts
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.

Required Skills:
  • 4-6 years' experience
  • Application of concepts and principles of Production and Planning Control fundamentals to include:
  • MRP
  • Inventory Management
  • JIT Concepts
  • Demonstrate ability to propose solutions to a variety of problems of minor scope and complexity
  • Shows ability for critical thinking and analysis skills to ensure detailed status provided to the Value Stream Manager and team
  • Demonstrates ability to contribute to the completion of organizational projects and goals
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications including Excel and Word. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate with various disciplines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Detail oriented
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
Desired Skills:
  • Familiarity with SAP systems
  • Working knowledge of MS PowerPoint
Required Education (including Major):

BA/BS in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or related field
