Summary:

The Sr.Network Engineer manage thepurchase, installation, and support of network communications, includingLAN/WAN systems.

Duties andResponsibilities:

  • Evaluatecurrent systems.
  • Workon complex problems where analysis of situation requires in-depth evaluation ofvarious factors.
  • Planlarge-scale systems projects through vendor comparison and cost studies.
  • Providework leadership and training to lower level Network Engineers.
  • Designand implement functional network infrastructure.
  • Resolveissues that tiers of support have escalated.
  • Mentorteam members and address user needs.
  • Configureand install software, servers, routers and other network devices.
  • Automatetasks and monitor for effectiveness.
  • Maintaintechnical documentation and suggest improvements as needed.
  • Otherduties as assigned

MinimumQualifications: (Toperform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform eachessential duty satisfactorily.)

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • 8+ years’ of demonstrated workexperience in network engineering.
  • Active Secret clearance required.

Knowledge, Skillsand Abilities:

  • Expert knowledge of LAN/WANsystems, networks, and applications required.
  • Knowledgeablein software and hardware tools used to determine nature of problems.
  • Musthave the ability effectively communicate through both written and oral forms ofcommunication.
  • Abilityto multi-task in a high stress, performance-based environment.
  • Abilityto work well both independently and in a team structure.
  • Musthave advanced knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in wordprocessing, spreadsheets, database, presentation software (MSWord, Excel,Access, PowerPoint), and Outlook.
  • Abilityto travel as requested or required based on business needs.
  • Abilityto prioritize and meet deadlines.

  • The employee will normally work ina temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure toelectronic office equipment.
  • During visits to areas ofoperations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborneparticles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
