Sr Mgr Business Development

Job Description:

The High Speed Weapons Transition and Capture Manager role provides proven leadership and expertise to win large, complex, strategic business growth opportunities. This position reports to the AMS Business Development Executive, providing day to day support to the Advanced High Speed Weapons portfolio. The Transition and Capture Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategies to grow markets and position for high speed weapon products across the DoD.

The manager will work closely with the AHSW Director to develop an execution strategy, establish directorate goals, plan growth activities, and plan for integration of development programs with core weapon systems. This position will also take a leadership role in the multi-disciplined capture and executing the Corporate Capture/Proposal Process. The manager will develop capture strategies offering differentiated customer-focused solutions using in depth research of customer requirements, acquisition policies, and competitive analysis. This position will often represent the portfolio to customers and senior leadership. He/she will develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers across the RMS product lines and other capture activities.

This position can be located in either Tucson, AZ or in the Washington, D.C. area depending on the candidate selected.

Other responsibilities may include:

  • Work with the AHSW team to coordinate NBI efforts across the portfolio, working closely with the Tech Dev manager and program managers to ensure strategic alignment

  • Stay abreast of technical and programmatic progress and issues of program execution and acquisition planning, positioning development efforts for transition to programs of record

  • Support development of comprehensive competitive assessments to quantify the competitive landscape, develop and actionable and timely win strategy, focused on developing competitive advantage, discriminators, strengths and counters to competitor’s discriminators

  • Lead capture team members in effective capture methods using lessons learned and best practices from across the company; actively solicit input from key internal and external stakeholders and capture team members

  • Maintain continuity of customer relationship through all phases of capture monitoring capture status, procurement status with the customer and assessing and re-planning appropriate responses

  • Develop and support customer engagement plans to align with strategic plan and product transition/marketing initiatives

Required Skills:

  • 12 years of demonstrated related work experience within the government or defense industry

  • Demonstrated knowledge of associate contractors and the competitive landscape

  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Self-starter with strong collaboration skills

  • Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel

  • Active Secret Clearance

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, business, or other related field

Desired Skills:

  • Experience working Captures and Pursuits within the High Speed Weapons customer community (i.e. DARPA…etc)

  • Strong technical background in weapon system design

  • Familiarity with Raytheon businesses, policies, and practices

  • Demonstrated networking capabilities among various communities, e.g. acquisition officials/leads in the Department of Defense and other government agencies

  • Experience working with Federal acquisition process

  • High situational awareness and demonstrated experience working multiple projects simultaneously with diverse groups and customers

  • Ability to execute effectively, using essential diplomatic skills, under stressful and fast-paced conditions Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration or Engineering preferred
