Job Description:
Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support multiple space programs in El Segundo, CA. The selected candidate will conduct structural analysis for space flight missions and is expected to work with a team of specialized junior and senior structural engineers to evaluate EO/IR hardware designs for static and dynamic environments for strength, fatigue, stiffness, thermoelastic behavior, and other system and sub-system level performance metrics such as Line of Sight. The selected candidate will be expected to define the scope and level of analysis required to meet required objectives and will be held accountable for completing the work within the agreed upon cost and schedule. The candidate will be expected to present his or her work for peer reviews and external customer reviews. The selected candidate will work with the customer and engineering leadership to define testing required to validate structural analyses and to verify compliance with requirements. In addition, the selected candidate will be expected to plan and support tests, perform data reduction and engage in structural model correlation.
