Sr Manufacturing Engineer I

The primary role of the Manufacturing Engineer (ME) is to support all aspects of technical performance across multiple depot and production programs at the Largo Consolidated Manufacturing Center (CMC), reporting to the Largo Manufacturing Engineering Manager. Working on a wide range of products, responsible for the design, control, and improve the manufacturing process and system design through a collaborative effort with the value stream team.

The ME will develop and manage primary and supplemental manufacturing documentation and work instructions, and provide production support from concept through sustaining activities. The ME will interface with design, process and production engineering, factory operations, and program management both in Largo and other Raytheon facilities.

Other responsibilities of this role include: conduct technical versus manufacturing data verifications, conduct hardware inspections, develop work cell layouts, plan/develop/manage/document manufacturing tooling and fixtures, conduct safety/ergonomic assessments and implementations, lead corrective action investigations to prevent recurrence, and employ Lean Manufacturing techniques.

Candidate will be expected to follow established procedures and instructions while working closely with program / functional supervision to ensure the overall objectives are met.

Required Skills:
  • 4+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience
  • Manufacturing Process and Procedure Development and Maintenance experience
  • Specialized Tooling Development (Jigs, Fixtures, Specialized Packaging Development) experience
  • Experience with related military and industry standards and specifications disposition non-conforming material with root cause and corrective action analysis
  • Design for Test and Design for Automation
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite of tools (Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge and ability to apply six sigma principles and techniques
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.
  • Clearance required within 1st year AND role requires access to US only data
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.

  • Proven written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Demonstrated hands-on mechanical aptitude with the ability to work across disciplines
  • Ability to work with minimum direct supervision
  • Qualified Raytheon Six Sigma Specialist or equivalent
  • Active DoD Clearance (Secret, Confidential)
  • Master's Degree preferred
Required Education:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent Technical Degree.

This position requires the eligibility to obtain a Security Clearance. Non-US Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an Agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the Security Clearance process. Security Clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, Foreign Influence, Foreign Preference, Criminal Conduct, Security Violations and Drug Involvement.
