Sr. Manager-Program Management

Job Description:

The Senior Program Manager, Advanced Survivability, will report to the Director, Enabling Technology. The Advanced Survivability portfolio is focused on the identifying, advancing, and capturing technology associated with weapon system survivability including vehicle signature shaping, specialized materials development and incorporation of Electronic Warfare technology. The PM will develop an execution strategy, establish goals, and plan activities for all aspects of the Advanced Survivability effort and related technology development; plan for integration in core weapon system(s); and develop potential collaborative development opportunities to increase the potential capture and execution of relevant weapon programs. The PM is accountable to the Program Director for overall success of the program, strict compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and security requirements, company and customer success, on-time delivery, and for identifying and assisting in the development of new programmatic opportunities within the customer community. The PM will manage a broad, matrixed program team with the ability to understand the need for establishing quality within the technology development process to support mature quality processes during integration/manufacturing. The PM will develop and maintain collaborative and responsive internal relationships with peers across the AMS product line, BD, RII, other business units and corresponding functional leads for the product line, such as HR and Finance.

Key responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Responsible for overall program strategy and execution for technology development and integration efforts supporting multiple capture and acquisition programs.
  • Manage NBI of >$10M per year and contract funds of >$15M/year.
  • Support advanced modeling and simulation efforts that validate the required level of survivability technology appropriate to each program under consideration.
  • Capture and then execute various advanced technology efforts associated with future weapon system requirements; closely monitor the defense, university and industrial technology base for emerging technology applicable to cost-effective enhanced vehicle survivability.
  • Function as the Missile Systems Subject Matter Expert in vehicle survivability including all contributors such as signature, maneuverability, speed, altitude and electronic warfare.
  • Responsible for articulating to senior product line leadership the ongoing status on cost and schedule performance, Risks and Opportunities, and strategies for program execution
  • Assume responsibility, when appropriate, for duties as Contractor Program Manager for survivability associated efforts.
  • Closely align Advanced Survivability activities with final acquisition weapon system capture and execution.
  • Maintain collaborative and responsive relationships within the product line and with functional support organizations
  • Establish and grow working relationships with customers, industry partners, etc
  • Stay abreast of technical and programmatic progress and issues of program
  • Understand and represent customer needs to senior management, and be an advocate to internal and external customers
  • Actively participate with Advanced Missile Systems counterparts in related gate reviews, color teams and Strategic Planning activities
  • Grow relationships to help “shape” technical requirements and acquisition strategies
  • Perform technical assessments and support other technology development teams as needed
  • Identify new business opportunities; support businesses in pursuing lateral opportunities and supporting current programs that are critical to AMS/RMS/the company



Required Skills:

  • Minimum 12+ years of direct related progressive experience in program management, preferably with significant Defense or Government experience
  • Active Secret Clearance with compartmented information eligibility updated within the last 5 years with eligibility to obtain Top Secret and SCI access.
  • Strong subject matter expertise in weapon system survivability measures.

Required Education (including Major):
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or closely related field. Prefer advanced degree in either business or technical field.
