This position is eligible for a Sign on Bonus of 20k for a candidate with a current TS/SCI that can be verified and hired at Raytheon.



Job Description:
Raytheon IIS Hardware and Infrastructure (HW&I) Engineering team has an immediate opening for a Sr. Infrastructure Hardware Engineer. This role will design and support deployment of a heterogeneous mix of computing hardware and software platforms including servers, workstations and numerous COTS and custom software applications. This candidate will develop and maintain infrastructure designs (compute, network, storage, and cyber) for upcoming efforts. The successful candidate must be familiar with decomposition of requirements, infrastructure design best practices, procurement needs and processes, interfacing with vendors to develop solutions, researching HW and SW solutions, and creating design artifacts and Bill of Materials (BOMs).

Duties can include, but are not limited to:

  • Hardware and Software Configuration Management, including drawing and software version control
  • COTS/FOSS usage management
  • Ensuring system baseline management
  • Monitoring system logs and analyzing system resources to identify load trends
  • Following established engineering design processes and procedures
  • Supporting and managing the implementation of Information Assurance controls
  • Managing regular patching of operating systems and COTS applications
  • Supporting design of VMware architectures and associated loading, analysis, and equipment recommendations
  • Performing Linux systems administration tasks
  • Serving as the POC for system-level troubleshooting
An active US Government TS/SCI security clearance is required as of day one of this assignment (US citizenship required).

Required Skills:
  • Experience with infrastructure hardware systems design and implementation
  • Ability and analyze and troubleshoot system-level issues
  • Advanced experience as a Linux systems administrator
  • Experience using VMware vSphere to develop private cloud systems
  • Ability to incorporate infrastructure DevOps tools and techniques into an existing VMware/Linux environment
  • Active US Government TS/SCI security clearance (US citizenship required)
  • 4 years of related work experience
Desired Skills:
  • O&M experience in an operational SATCOM and/or GTE environment
  • Experience with obsolescence management
  • Knowledge of systems engineering and configuration management best practices
  • Experience supporting Integration & Test (I&T) activities

Required Education:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 4 years of related work experience.
