Sr Field Engineer II

Raytheon IIS Field Engineering is currently seeking a Sr. Field Engineer I. This dual-role position will be responsible for providing technical reach back support and managing program training requirements for the Field Engineers. The Field Engineers will support the Multi-Function RF System (MFRFS) and/or the Coyote UAS weapon platform. The FE provide technical reach back support to deployed FEs and will be considered the technical expert and must be able to answer all technical questions regarding the operation and maintenance of the systems. The FE will provide guidance, assist with installation, test, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities for the radar system (including operation of a tactical generator and an environmental cooling unit) and the Coyote UAS. The FE will also support program TR/FERB and work with program engineers to support a variety engineering activities.

This role will also require the candidate to analyze and develop training based on current deployed scenarios of the MFRFS/Coyote UAS systems. The candidate will be responsible for training and certifying Field Engineers prior to deployment. The candidate will interface with engineers and other technical personnel to analyze and revise lesson plans, validate documentation and provide subject matter expertise to the Field Engineers.

Note: This position will be located in McKinney, TX and will require some CONUS and OCONUS travel.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 10 years of experience working with military radars/sensors and C-UAS systems.
  • Electronics experience - familiar with the tools and test equipment commonly used in electronic installation, maintenance and testing.
  • Must be a self-starter and have the ability to align priorities appropriately and work.
  • Must possess excellent technical writing, oral communication and negotiation skills.
  • Past deployment experience in a combat environment
  • Must have experience using the LINUX or UNIX
  • Must possess 5 years of training experience
  • Microsoft Office suite of computer application

Desired Skills:
  • Experience working with the KRFS radar/Coyote UAS Systems.
  • Graduate of US military sensor or radar technical school.
  • Understanding of sensor or radar system operations and maintenance.
  • UAS assembly, disassembly and repair experience.
  • Experience with using iTrackers and COLTS
  • Experience with military generators.
  • Experience with tactical HVAC systems.
  • Experience with 1.4 explosives or gas generators.
  • Minimum 2 years experience as a UAS maintainer/pilot.
  • Minimum 2 years experience with munitions handling/loading.
  • Knowledge of military protocol.
  • Past military experience highly desirable.
  • Past deployment experience in a combat environment

Required Education:
  • Required Education (including Major): Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related technical discipline, with a minimum of 4 years’ experience, OR an Associate Degree with 8 years of related experience or High School and 12 years of related experience, training and education may substitute for the degree.

Security Clearance Requirements: Must have a DoD SECRET Security Clearance

Special Work Circumstances:

  • Some travel may be required to include Afghanistan, Iraq and other international destinations.
  • Must be able to deploy to remote international locations with little notification.
  • Must be willing and able to deploy to environments that may include harsh living conditions (extreme heat and cold, deployed living conditions, etc.) and/or hostile work environment.
  • Must be able to move and/or lift weights such as test equipment, ladders, tools, and cable reels weighing up to 60 pounds using proper lifting techniques or material moving equipment.
  • Must be able to live and work in the Middle East desert with temperatures above 120 degrees F.
