Sr Field Engineer II - Domestic and International Radar Support

MCVC in White Sands, NM is searching for a qualified Engineer to join the Sensors & BMC3I team to support radar systems in various locations both domestic and international and required to travel extensively to support program requirements.

Job Description:
  • Perform systems engineering, software installation, test and validation, system interface, monitoring, analysis, troubleshooting, repair, modifications, and verification to ensure fully operational Radar equipment and system software performance.
  • Provide immediate resolution of system problems/failures that occur during operations.
  • Assist with data compilation and analysis, test setup and execution of all special tests and related data collection activities.
  • Support test conductor in the development of special test scripts and test requirements.
  • Provide radar operations support with running system diagnostics and analysis of results.
  • Provide software and operations support in analog and digital simulations, live operations, system performance checks, and other system specifics as requested.
  • Support a diverse team, internal/external customers and military personnel with technical system requirements.
  • Deploy domestically and internationally with the system for up to 120 days at a time.
  • Accept additional assignments to domestic and international remote locations to support program requirements.
  • Work in remote and hazardous locations exposed to environmental hazards, energized equipment, radar radiation hazards, and unexploded ordnance.

Required Education (including Major):

Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics, Engineering Technology or other disciplines; 8 years of related experience or a combination of experience and education can be substituted in lieu of a 4 year degree.

Basic Requirements:
  • Minimum of four (6) years of experience in technical engineering support of field operations working with radar system software and operations in assessing and correcting faulty equipment.
  • Experience with Radar X-Band hardware/software concepts, RF systems, troubleshooting, and reading/utilizing hardware schematics.
  • Extensive experience with UNIX based OS platforms (Solaris, HP-UX, LINUX etc.)
  • Experience in maintaining and providing engineering assessment and corrective actions on faulted equipment, and installation and testing of engineering modifications/updates.
  • Active Secret clearance
  • Security + certification or the ability to receive one within 90 days of hire
Desired Requirements:
  • Experience using design, debug, and test hardware/software.
  • Knowledge of analog/digital hardware design.
  • Excellent teaming skills, multi-task, work under stress, support across multiple disciplines, and flexible to travel to support the radar.
  • Familiarity with Network equipment configuration/setup (routers switches etc)

This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
