Sr Field Engineer I

Job Description:

Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Services (IIS) Field Engineering (FE) is currently seeking a Sr. System Engineer I to support the String Integration Lab located in Andover Massachusetts.Candidates for this position will join a team of installation engineers to build and maintain a functional lab. The candidate should also be familiar with large phased array radar installation and testing and should have a good working knowledge of engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, procedures and work scheduling and reporting. The work involves tracking local end items that will be shipped OCONUS in the Automated Logistics Control System (ALCS), creating baselines in ALCS, job orders, mapping out cable routing cable installing within the lab, installing cabinets and sub-assemblies inside the cabinets, and assist in the Pilot Array Antenna construction then maintain both the SIL and Antenna array once complete. This individual will also perform other duties as needed in support of both the SIL and array. Candidate may also act as a backfill for deployed team members when needed.

Required Skills:

  • Candidate should have at least 4 years’ experience in test, integration, and cabling interconnects. Must be able to perform work to a detailed level and report back to the program office on a regular basis. Provide the program office with support and information necessary to complete the installation and support the test and validation of the installed equipment.
  • Will have extensive working knowledge Raytheon’s procedures and reporting methods.
  • Candidate must be familiar with electrical codes and compliance with equipment installation regulations, including grounding systems.
  • Candidate should be highly proficient with the use of hand and power tools and electrical test equipment.
  • Candidates must be willing and able to climb and work on radar site towers (Above 30 feet).
  • Previous HW equipment and system operation experience.
  • Experience with / understanding of systems requirements sell-off (Test, Analysis, Demonstration, Inspection).
  • Good communication/coordination skills, fast learner (demonstrates initiative, ability to work independently towards program goals), and proven experience working in a team environment.


Desired Skills:

  • Candidate should be able to communicate, orally and in writing, site and equipment status to upper management and government customer.
  • UEWR system experience/knowledge desired.
  • Experience in dealing with customer representatives and in coordinating actions with other contractors is a plus.
  • Candidate should be proficient at using the Microsoft Office software applications in preparing status reports, generating various documents and procedures, etc.
  • Familiar with Raytheon practices regarding technical documentation.
  • Familiar with US Department of Defense testing and acceptance practices for facilities sub-systems.
  • Prior experience in Radar System performance analysis or Radar Operations and maintenance experience of phased array radar systems is strongly recommended.
  • Automated Logistics Control System (ALCS) knowledge a plus
Required Education (including Major):

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, and Information Systems, Mathematics or similar degree and 6 years of prior relevant experience.
