Sr. Electrical Engineer

Description:Opportunity for candidates experienced in Electrical Engineering or related disciplines interested in putting their skills to work as an Electrical Engineer Sr. Experience and passion in electrical circuit designs is required

Position spans the technology development life-cycle, including requirements generation, system design and implementation, hardware procurement, integration, test, and installation across lab facilities and at-sea platforms. Responsibilities include close involvement with systems engineering; design and development of electrical hardware solutions; troubleshooting issues; test planning; test development; test execution; and subcontractor oversight. The candidate will apply best practices throughout the product lifecycle to help ensure that the hardware solution aligns with dynamic customer requirements. Baseline control and change management are critical.

Candidate will provide oversight of technical, cost, and schedule performance for custom circuit development efforts within a program. Expected to communicate project status and technical issues. Some interaction with Program Management, Chief Engineering Organization, and the Customer.

The candidate should be a self-starter who is able to work independently and handle multiple hardware development aspects of a program. Minimal travel is expected.

General responsibilities may include:

• Experience in electrical circuit design
• Leadership/Communication/Team Skills
• Adherence to military hardware design processes
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple simultaneous tasks

Specific responsibilities include:

• Custom Circuit Design (Ideally analog design experience)
• Specification and selection of COTS, ROTS, NDI and/or custom components
• Chassis design incorporating custom CCAs
• Test Procedure development and execution
• System Verification and Validation
• Support of limited environmental test and analysis
• Ability to interpret a mechanical drawing
• End-of-life assessments and evaluations
• Leading trade studies
• Familiarity with supply chain risk management, cybersecurity and program protection concerns
• Participating in Integrated Product Teams, review boards, and customer reviews
• Subcontractor oversight
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Systems Engineering from an accredited college, related discipline and/or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience
• Emerging authority in COTS and/or Custom Power Electronics
• Based on customer requirements, the US Government, candidates must have the ability to obtain/maintain Secret level clearance
Desired Skills:
Some military design experience is a plus
Knowledgeable of system cabling design
Knowledgeable of system design lifecycle
Some software experience/knowledge in Labview, Verilog, and/or VHDL
Knowledgeable of analog and/or digital circuit design
Knowledgeable of board layout and IPC Specs
Knowledge of electrical/computing system design (servers, switches, power, packaging, custom circuits)
Excellent Leadership/Communication/Team Skills
