Electrical Engineer - CCA Design / FPGA Design - Radar
The Receiver, Exciter and Signal Processing (RESP) Department within the Integrated Defense System’s (IDS) Electrical Design Directorate (EDD) is seeking engineering professionals to be part of the Mixed Signal Engineering teams that design, develop, integrate and test the most technologically advanced Radars in the world.
The RESP Department is the focal point for receiver, exciter, beam steering, and signal processing technology. The department is responsible for the design, development, integration, support to production builds and lifecycle support of IDS products. There is flexibility for the engineers in the RESP department to move across design disciplines and to experience all the stages in the product’s development lifecycle.
Responsibilities will include requirements analysis and decomposition, sub-system and circuit design, modeling, simulation and design verification test. The candidate will work with other experienced hardware engineers and will have strong written and verbal communication skills and have the ability to work independently yet collaboratively in a team environment.
Possible focus areas:
Mixed Signal Design: A/D Converters, Digital Down Converters, D/A Converters, Digital Waveform Generators, Mixed Signal CCAs, Mixed Signal Modules and Subsystems
Digital Hardware: Subsystem/Module Digital Circuits, FPGA/ASICs, COTS Interfaces, Subsystem Development, VME/PCI interfaces Digital Systems, System Trades, Architecture, Embedded Processing
Embedded Systems Development: CPLDs, FPGAs, SoC
Receiver & Exciter (REX) Design: REX System Analysis, Exciter Design, Receiver Design, Low Noise Sources, Simulation and Modeling, Integration and Test
Test Development: Hardware and/or Software Test Program Set generation, for testing radar subsystems and components
