Sr Electrical Engineer I - FPGA/CPLD

The Digital Design Engineer responsibilities include solving complex technical problems and providing highly innovative and ingenious solutions in the areas of radar digital control system design and integration, digital circuit card design, digital and mixed signal sub-systems as well as FPGA/CPLD design, developing advanced technological ideas and guiding their development into a final product. Other responsibilities include task management and architectural development of digital subsystems. The candidate must have demonstrated the ability to apply advanced technical principles, theories and concepts.

Required Skills:

  • 6+ years applicable experience required
  • Experience translating system performance and operational specifications into hardware requirements, design, and test to specifications.
  • Experience in the design, test and troubleshooting of digital and mixed signal circuits
  • Experience in high density high speed digital and mixed signal circuit card design using VHSIC Hardware Description Language (VHDL)
  • Experience in simulation, integration, test and analysis of complex systems and sub-systems
  • Experience with DSP development tools (MATLAB and Simulink)
Desired Qualifications Skills
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Broad engineering background and experience in digital receiver/exciter control and integration
  • High Speed Fiber Optic and copper data transfer link design (PCIe, 1/10/40/100G) including both Hardware and Firmware
  • Experience in radar receiver/exciter or beam steering digital design and development preferable
  • Experience in both advanced technology development and in engineering production support
  • Experience with technical and cost proposal development
  • A high degree of creativity and demonstrated problem solving capability
  • Experience using Configuration Management Systems (ClearCase and/or SVN),
  • DSP and Mixed Signal Design - Receiver A/D Converters, Direct Digital Converters, Receiver D/A Converters, Digital Waveform Generators, high density circuit card design.
  • Integration and test experience in a hardware/software laboratory environment
  • Requirements test planning and sell off
  • Strong leadership and communication skills and the ability to work across engineering disciplines
  • Experience designing FPGA and CPLD synchronous systems utilizing vendor logic synthesis tools (Xilinx Vivado and/or Altera Quartus)
  • Experience working in a laboratory environment using logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and lab test equipment to test and verify the functions of digital and mixed signal circuits and systems


Required Education:
·BSEE, MSEE preferred however, experience will be evaluated as equivalence.
