Sr Electrical Engineer I - Digital Subsystem Development

Job Description:

The Radar Electronics and Controls Department within Raytheon IDS is hiring electrical engineers that concentrate on digital subsystem development. The primary responsibilities of the roles are the development, implementation, and integration of digital sub-systems. The candidate may perform or support requirements specification, digital design, simulation, design validation, system integration testing, and production support. The candidate should also have successfully implemented designs in fielded systems, and constructed test and integration plans.

Applicant will work as part of a highly motivated team environment, and will be collaborating with cross-functional project teams making up a larger program or internal research and development efforts. Our engineers are assigned to a manager of approximately 20 employees with similar skills. Each section manager is responsible for their members’ performance, career development, and assigning tasks that balance the employees’ interests with current needs of the project teams.

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.

This position can be either Senior Electrical Engineer I or Senior Electrical Engineer II based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.

Required Skills:
• 4+ years related experience
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Broad technical experience designing and supporting Digital Sub-Systems including the resolution of technical challenges
• Experience troubleshooting hardware issues from the system level down to CCA and component levels
• Ability maintain high performance in a highly dynamic, team based environment
• Past work experience (professional or academic) interacting with multidisciplinary teams of system design professionals including electrical, mechanical, software, and logistics engineers.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Security Clearance

Desired Skills:
• Experience in the design, test and troubleshooting of digital and mixed signal circuits
• Experience in FPGA design or verification
• Experience with CreoSchematic
• Interest in supporting local, domestic and international demonstrations and resolving technical issues
• Experience in Root-Cause Corrective Action investigations

Required Education (including Major):
• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (advanced degree a plus)
