The Defense Group at Leidos has an opening for a Counter Intelligence (Risk Mitigation) Specialist to support the J2 at U.S. Space Command (USSPACECOM) at Schriever Air Force Base (AFB), Colorado Springs, Colorado. USSPACECOM is the 11th Unified Combatant Command and will perform missions and functions associated with every Combatant Command (CCMD), including several missions unique to the joint space warfighter. The USSPACECOM Intelligence Directorate (J2) will conduct joint intelligence operations and perform critical operational intelligence functions to support missions assigned to USSPACECOM. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience, education, and abilities to support the newest Unified Combatant Command in the Department of Defense.

Primary Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the CI Specialist include, but are not limited to, identifying, monitoring, and assessing foreign intelligence efforts attempting collection of sensitive national security information on U.S. persons, activities and interests, including threats posed by emerging technologies to U.S. operations and interests. The contractor shall conduct, develop, produce, and present programs of instruction in specified collection operations TTPs, and related or supporting processes, relevant to the various human intelligence and technical intelligence operations under DoD authorities.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 12 years of experience related to Counter Intelligence (Risk Mitigation) with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years.
  • Must possess an active TS/SCI.
  • Demonstrates ability to work independently and with minimal oversight.
  • Demonstrates ability to review analytic products for cogent arguments, tradecraft standards, and adequate support for conclusions; routinely tests analytic rigor of analytic products.
  • Demonstrates mastery of qualitative and quantitative methodologies for identifying, monitoring, and assessing foreign intelligence efforts attempting collection of sensitive national security information on U.S. persons, activities and interests, including threats posed by emerging technologies to U.S. operations and interests.
  • Demonstrates ability to conduct, develop, produce, and present programs of instruction in specified collection operations TTPs, and related or supporting processes, relevant to the various human intelligence and technical intelligence operations under DoD authorities.
  • Demonstrates in-depth analysis of and articulation of operational risk, risk mitigation, and threat identification issues across organizational and intra-IC boundaries.
  • Demonstrates the ability to apply understanding of foreign intelligence capabilities / activities and U.S. and foreign partner CI capabilities and Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) for in-depth analytic research and production of all-source CI studies and contributes to developing CI strategies.

Preferred Qualifications

Masters degree from a college or university by an agency recognized by the US Department of Education and 12 years of experience.  Or a Bachelors degree and 17 years of experience. 

Additional required education includes graduate of in-residence Fundamentals of Intelligence Analysis course or Military Service equivalent.
