Sr Contract Negotiator

Job Description:
This role will support various programs in the Protected Communication Systems product line. The individual will be responsible for performing a full range of contract administration functions, focused on flawless execution of contracts responsibilities. The Senior Contracts Negotiator will be required to display an understanding of company policies and procedures and their application of contract structures. This individual will also be able to differentiate between routine and non-routine contract elements and terms, and be able to make recommended solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for demonstrating a basic understanding of business agreements, i.e., teaming agreements, proprietary information agreements, etc., along with understanding of management, organization, planning and controls. Additionally, the individual will also be required to recognize contractual issues in program performance, recommend and implement solutions, prepare for and negotiate sound business deals with customers and provide governance to the program team in carrying out the terms of the contract.
This individual is a valued member of the both his/her program teams and the contracts functional team. This position will report to a Sr. Manager, Contracts located in Marlborough, MA.


Required Skills:

  • 6+ years of work experience or an advanced degree
  • Prior experience working with FAR, DFARS, and service-specific supplements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work within a team and foster teamwork and trust from both external and internal customers
  • Strong organizational and computer skills
  • Capable of multi-tasking while still meeting deadlines
  • Experience researching compliance issues, applicable regulations and laws, and formulating recommendations to management
  • Effective negotiation skills
  • Experience with various contract types and change management
  • Experience with being the customer interface and demonstrated success in building strong customer relationships
  • Demonstrated business acumen with the ability to clearly recognize risk elements in business transactions with respect to, for example, cost management, earned value, funding management, reporting, etc.
  • Ability to travel required (<10%)
  • Ability to obtain DoD Secret security clearance
  • US Citizenship

Desired Skills:

  • Prior experience working with all elements of US DoD acquisition process (contract administration principles in US Federal Government domestic contracting in accordance with company and regulatory requirements)
  • Knowledge of program management principles, company policies and procedures
  • Experience working with ITAR and export licensing and procedures
  • NCMA certification (CPCM or CFCM)


Required Education: Bachelors Degree in Business Management or related field.

This position requires a U.S. person or the ability to obtain an Export Authorization from the appropriate government agency for non-U.S. persons
