Job Description 

  • Responsible for applying the change management process
  • Assuring all change requests (RFC) for completeness and quality
  • Logs RFCs into the change management database, ensuring accuracy and consistency of data
  • Validates that impact assessments for proposed changes have been completed
  • Assign changes to the appropriate support groups/technicians/implementers for design, build and test
  • Acts as secretary to meetings that review changes, such as Change Advisory Board (CAB)
  • Maintain a strong relationship with service providers and technical teams to ensure that RFCs are handled effectively
  • Confirm that changes have been successfully implemented
  • Progresses status of changes with service teams to ensure that data is current
  • Update/create Configuration Items (CI's) within Configuration Management Database (CMDB) following the implementation of a change
  • Monitor and track risks, managing the provision of countermeasures where possible and where necessary, escalate to the Transition Manager to provide appropriate control measures
  • Ensure software licenses are managed and tracked to ensure any license compliance issues are known, understood and communicated
  • Acts as a routine point of contact on change and configuration matters between the organization and service providers

High School Diploma/GED with 10 years of related experience, or Associate’s Degree with 8 years of experience, or Bachelor’s Degree with 6 years of experience, or Master’s Degree with 4 years of experience


5-8 years of related configuration management experience


Skills / Experience:

  • Must possess and maintain a Top Secret/SCI Clearance

  • Must meet DoD 8570 requirements and be eligible for IAT level II (Security+ CE or equivalent) access upon hire for positions with elevated privileges

  • ITIL Foundation V3 or greater
  • This position may be required to complete short-term deployments to austere locations worldwide
  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II Computing Environment (CE) Certification
  • Additional specific certifications my be required 
  • Significant experience within a customer facing IT service delivery/service management
  • Expertise with MS Project, Visio, and MS Office
  • Knowledge of Industry and Professional Standards, with relevant ITIL experience
  • Experience in configuration, change, release, and problem management
  • Articulate with good personal communication skills, capable of dealing with senior management, business users and third-party partners and suppliers
  • Attention to detail, process and quality
  • Proven ability to act on own initiative and work unsupervised
  • Ability to solve problems, creatively and effectively
  • Ability to make complex processes, procedures and concepts simple
  • Good understanding of Release Management responsibilities and how this is closely linked with Change & Configuration Management
  • Strong resilience and the ability to deal with ambiguity
  • Proven ability to persuade and influence others using a variety of communication style
  • ITIL Foundation qualified v3 or greater
  • Working knowledge of an ITSM toolset
  • Proven ability to balance, prioritize and organize multiple tasks

  • Proven ability to resolve problems efficiently and effectively while recognizing customers’ competence levels and approaching each level appropriately

  • Methodical approach to work and a keen eye for detail
  • Strong IT skills and an ability to organize and analyze data
  • Strong communications skills and the ability to understand complex instructions and explain complex ideas to technical people
  • A strong and assertive approach to decision making and a focus on ‘getting it right’
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the capability to make decisions and adapt to change
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
