SQL Database Administrator

Job Description

CACI is seeking a SQL Database Administrator to provide expertise and direction in the installation, maintenance, recovering, rights management, and securing of database systems to enhance and streamline business operations at U.S. Naval Ship Repair Facility and Japan Regional Maintenance Center (SRF-JRMC) in Yokosuka, Japan.

What You’ll Get to Do:

  • Provide functional and empirical analysis related to the designing, implementation, securing, recovering, and maintenance of relational database systems for business operations at SRF-JRMC.
  • Identify system requirements for operations and security, and work with other engineers and staff to develop designs and integrate components.
  • Develop security procedures for design reviews, operational monitoring, recording, and responding to security events on U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) and U.S. Department of Navy (DON) secured networks.
  • Develop verification plans based on requirements and architecture documents. Design database models for future architectural enhancements to business applications, including migration to managed service accounts, and plans to address inter- and/or intra-site redundancy where necessary.
  • Review, apply, and document Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to secure database systems that might otherwise be vulnerable to a malicious computer attack.
  • Install and configure multiple SQL Server named instances on various VM's utilizing Microsoft SQL Server Enterprise Edition and Windows Server versions >= 2012, and Oracle Database >= 12c.
  • Work closely with System & Security Engineers on database system maintenance and tuning procedures for the SRF business applications, such as Microsoft System Center, McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO), Microsoft Active Directory Rights Management System (ADRMS), Dell Compellent Enterprise Manager and Dell OpenManage Essentials.
  • Perform database migrations in SQL Server. Utilizing Erwin Data Modeler, SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT), or other DADMS approved application, for the database modeling and data migration.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a database system recovery plan that is aligned with the Commands System Security Plan.
  • Design, Implement, and maintain, test SQL Server for the Application Development group.
  • Prepare and maintain all database systems for upcoming Security Compliance reviews by Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). Review all Database Instance / Database Server STIG's and Security Plans. Work with Information Assurance (IA) - 109.2 Team to make sure everything is documented and ready for the review.
  • Ability to perform Database administration on other RDBMS

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • 5 years of SQL Database Administration or related DBA experience
  • Expert knowledge of security procedures for U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) and U.S. Department of Navy (DON) secured networks
  • Advanced knowledge of database structure and theory
  • Experience with SQL server and SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT)
  • Basic understanding of disaster recovery and database backup procedures
  • Familiarity with reporting tools
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and assistance
  • Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization.
  • Knowledge of High Availability and Disaster Recovery options for SQL Server
  • Experience with Database security in SQL server.
  • Active SECRET security clearance

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Oracle database management experience
  • Configurations like Database cleanup, backups, user creation/permissions
