Space Systems – STE Lead Systems Engineer

The Space and Airborne Systems team in the Systems Engineering Center organization is currently seeking a Special Test Equipment (STE) Lead Engineer (LE) to lead our business growth activities. The STE LE will support our Space Systems programs from a Systems Test Engineering and Government customer relationship perspective, in a leadership role. STE design for new business captures and proposals creation will be supported among other activities. This role is critical to development and executionfor our programs and to grow our business. The STE LE needs to have technical competence in space systems, work independently with program teams across multiple mission areas, and understand and assess current and future STE performance in the overall mission. The candidate must also be able to communicate with and understand government and commercial customer requirements for current and future programs. Understanding SAS STE capabilities, expertise, customer engagement and competitive advantages is key to successful performance.

Responsibilities:
The candidate will interact with multiple customers, both internally and externally. The candidate will engage with Space leadership and engineering leadership in supporting large scale STE and program execution efforts. The candidate will develop STE architectures and perform STE trades for multiple space system programs and new business pursuits. The candidate will also need to interface with many customers in support of development of STE technical roadmaps and identify/resolve STE capability gaps for future acquisition programs. The candidate will play a role in shaping the EO/IR STE technology designs and STE system concepts for space systems.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 12 years experience in systems engineering, analysis, and/or verification
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in the range of system engineering processes, including requirements definition, design, data analysis, and operations support
  • Experience in preparing and delivering briefings to management and customers
  • Capable of effectively working in a team environment, often under tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated desire to successfully pursue new challenges, improve and broaden technical skills, seek greater responsibilities, and increase individual value to the organization
  • SSBI Security Clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.

Desired Skills:
  • Engineering leadership experience with space imaging technology
  • Experience in IV&V planning, test methodologies and test requirements development for space systems
  • IPTL & EVMS experience

Required Education:
BS in Engineering, Sciences, or Math

Desired Education:
MS in Engineering, Sciences, or Management
