Job Description:
The RF Subsystem Engineer provides the full range of systems design and analysis-related activities in support of Space-based RF programs. These activities may include:

  • Development of system and/or subsystem requirements
  • Decomposition, allocation, and maintenance of requirements for space electronics
  • Interfacing with Hardware, Software, and/or Test Equipment teams to ensure designs are consistent with requirements
  • Defining and documenting system and/or subsystem interfaces to include mechanical, electrical, and/or telemetry and control
  • Defining and developing system concept of operations (CONOPS)
  • Defining and developing system electrical interface
  • Development of verification plans, test requirements documents, and test procedures
  • Development of test data analysis tools
  • Development of mathematical algorithms for RF signal processing and calibration
  • Creating technical presentations to both internal and external customers
  • Participating in customer and/or program technical reviews
  • Technical team leadership participating in technical peer reviews throughout the product lifecycle of design, development, integration and test, and flight test requirements verification

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in systems engineering and/or electronics development
  • Experience with requirements decomposition, allocation, maintenance & management and verification & validation of requirements
  • Experience with power, digital, and/or RF electronics
  • Able to effectively multi-task and prioritize actions
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within team environment
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to access to US only data systems
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.
  • Active Top Secret or SSBI

Desired Skills:

  • Proficient in requirements database management tool such as DOORS
  • Proficient in Matlab
  • Experience in RF design, development, integration and test (system verification)
  • Experience in hardware and/or software development of embedded, real-time systems (e.g. real-time flight software, FPGAs)

Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Physics, Math, or related discipline; advanced degrees preferred
