Software System Architect Sr

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

-object-oriented development and use of tools, and applythem to software application program development

-providing detailed technical support for softwaredevelopment programs with minimal management supervision

-translating operational requirements into detailedsoftware/system requirements

-integrating COTS products into software/systemarchitectures

- use tools and technologies and integrate them intoexisting products and processes

-work with distributed systems, and issues regardingdatabase replication and distribution for distributed systems

-providing technical direction to design and developmentteams, and monitoring progress and productivity through the use of metrics

-understand the Army Technical Architecture guidelines

-ability to work on multi-functional teams, as well asproven verbal and written communications skills

-ability to lead large (5 or more people) design and developmentteams, providing them technical direction and monitoring progress through theuse of metrics, with minimal management supervision

A Master's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or other Engineering or Technical discipline and 7 years in having the detailed knowledge of modern software development processes, to include object-oriented development and use of tools, and how to apply them to software application program development.
-Must be capable of providing detailed technical support for software development programs with minimal management supervision.
-Must be capable of translating operational requirements into detailed software/system requirements.
-Must be capable of integrating COTS products into software/system architectures.
-Must be able to rapidly understand the use of tools and technologies and integrate them into existing products and processes.
-Must have knowledge of distributed systems, and issues regarding database replication and distribution for distributed systems.
-Must be capable of providing technical direction to design and development teams, and monitoring progress and productivity through the use of metrics. Additionally, must have a general understanding of communications protocols, and be able to quickly understand the Army Technical Architecture guidelines.
-Must have excellent interpersonal skills, to include the ability to work on multi-functional teams, as well as proven verbal and written communications skills.
-Must have demonstrated ability to lead large (5 or more people) design and development teams, providing them technical direction and monitoring progress through the use of metrics, with minimal management supervision.
-Must have advanced knowledge of modern software development processes and tools, with repeated track record of applying them to programs.

-Secret Security Clearance

-Must maintain the minimum certification for IA Technical Level II, which may be GSEC, Security+, SCNP or SSCP.
-Must maintain a Computing Environment certification for the applicable Operating System (i.e. Microsoft Server 2012 or Database SQL).

Additional Qualifications:
- Personnel supporting WIN-T INC 2: Minimum 2 years of experience working on Microsoft (MS) PowerShell scripting, MS Rapid Provisioning System, and Desired State Configuration.

- Minimum 2 years of experience with automated testing tools and their configuration and execution.

- Personnel supporting WIN-T INC 1 & 2: Minimum 2 years of experience working with Identity Management Software and public key (PKI) infrastructure technologies.

Essential Functions
Work Environment
Office setting that includes sedentary physical effort. However, may include lifting of weight up to thirty (30) pounds as necessary. Must be able to work well with co-workers and all levels of management. No hazards on job or unusual environmental conditions. Work site is located at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.
Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing, and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distance may be required.
Equipment and Machines
Ability to operate office equipment such as personal computer, printer, copy machine, telephone, fax machine and other equipment including desk supplies and other work related tools as required.
Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Regular attendance of scheduled hours is extremely important, but not critical, except for deadlines and meetings. Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary to meet deadlines. Must exhibit flexibility of work hours to adjust to surge situations based on critical mission requirements.
Other Essential Functions
Must demonstrate professional behavior at all times when dealing with customers, management and co-workers. Must have clear, concise and accurate communications skills in English, both verbal and written. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk to employees or others. Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner. Independent personal transportation to work site is required. Travel to and from customer's locations may be required to support projects. This may involve airline travel. In some cases, accommodations can possibly be made for POV, if necessary. When operating any vehicle for work purposes, must wear seat belt and in addition, no cellular devices are to be used when vehicle is in motion.
