Software Quality Engineer 3/4

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector is seeking a Software Quality Engineer 3/4 to join our Quality Engineering department at our Linthicum, Maryland location.

We are looking for an experienced individual with a background in software program execution, software development, software systems engineering, software mission/quality assurance and/or process improvement to join the Mission Assurance (MA) organization.

The candidate selected will monitor and improve mission/quality assurance system elements that assure program execution and customer goal satisfaction. This role will support one or more classified programs in the ISR Space division.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Ensures compliance with all MA software related contractual requirements and sector/division policies and procedures, while contributing to the program’s effective process implementation.

Provides leadership and guidance to the program with respect to implementing engineering processes in order to meet Northrop Grumman and customer requirements and technical objectives, independently assessing program and supplier software risks, cost, and schedule; conducting process and product evaluations.

Assures the quality of software engineering and test verification activities, and participates in internal and customer software development and test reviews.
Ensures thorough root cause analysis is performed and appropriate corrective and preventive actions are developed and implemented in a timely manner.

Works with the MA team and Program Management team to define, gather, evaluate, and effectively present process and quality metric data.

Performs supplier management evaluations and audits and participates in supplier test activities, including travel to supplier sites as needed.

Possess strong communication skills and the ability to work closely and effectively with program personnel.

Basic Qualifications for Level 3:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related technical field such as Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Computer Science.
Five (5) years of experience supporting systems engineering, systems integration, software engineering, software development, software test processes, or program management.
Proficient knowledge of software development.
Basic knowledge of programing languages including C/C++ or Java.
Possess an active Top Secret with SCI clearance or active Top Secret with the ability to obtain an SCI Clearance

Basic Qualifications for Level 4:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related technical field such as Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Computer Science.

Nine (9) years of related experience supporting systems engineering, systems integration, software engineering, software development, software test processes, or program management.

Demonstrated experience in software development.

Basic knowledge of programing languages, including C/C++ or Java.

Possess an active Top Secret with SCI clearance or active Top Secret with the ability to obtain an SCI Clearance

Preferred Qualifications for Level 3 or 4:
Master’s degree or PhD in a related technical field.

Possess Active TS/SCI clearance.

Experience working in the Aerospace field.

Demonstrated experience in software design, development, systems engineering experience or Software development management or (technical)
program management experience.

Demonstrated Mission Assurance or process experience.

Six Sigma Green Belt certification or ASQ CSQE certification.

Demonstrated experience with CMMI and AS9100 Standards.
