Software QA Engineer III

Responsibilities:

Perspecta is seeking a mid- to senior-level software tester who will work as part of an Agile development team on the Theater Mission Planning Center (TMPC) program. The candidate will be responsible for testing his or her team’s implementation of user stories and features that add new system capabilities or correct system defects in a large, complex system. The tester is an integrated member of the Agile team and, while testing is the primary responsibility, the tester will perform non-test activities, as needed and able, to support the overall focus and commitment of the team.

The tester will:

  • Develop and execute manual and coded UI tests following team/project conventions to verify new system capabilities and bug fixes based on user story definition and acceptance criteria,
  • Report test findings and document new errors per team/project conventions,
  • Provide or validate estimates for assigned tasks,
  • Understand TMPC hardware configurations and applications/capabilities for each configuration,
  • Contribute to the evolution of the team/project standards and conventions, and

Participate in Agile ceremonies (e.g., Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-up).

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong analytical skills,
  • Strong writing skills,
  • Ability to develop test plans / test cases,
  • Ability to follow procedures,
  • Ability to work within a collaborative Agile team environment,
  • Familiarity with scripting languages or automated test tools (e.g., Visual Studio / Coded UI),
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products,
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools, including TFS,
  • Minimum of 5-7 years test experience, including automated testing,
  • BS/BA in CS or EE or Math or related field, and
  • An active SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain one.
