Software Integration Tester

If so, our Patriot Fielded Systems and Validation Department in Tewksbury, Massachusetts wants you to join our Patriot Software Integration Testing (SWIT) team. Patriot is the world's pre-eminent air defense system and we are currently developing new system capabilities. As a Software Integration Test (SWIT) Engineer, you will work with a team of software and systems engineers to integrate and test these new capabilities. Job Description:

As a Software Integration Tester, you will work on a small team of software integration test engineers to perform integration testing on new Patriot capabilities. Tasks include planning test execution steps, performing integration testing in different lab environments, documenting issues found, tracking issues to closure, and releasing software builds to the general test community. All of these tasks require coordination between various groups including software developers, build leads, tasks leads, system engineering, and the test community. The candidate will need to be able to communicate effectively across different groups and work well within a team. Given just general direction, you will need to independently determine and develop approaches to find solutions that achieve the end goal of a delivered test build. The job requires a well-disciplined engineer who is able to thrive in a dynamic environment.

The job location for this opportunity is in Tewksbury, MA, supporting the Patriot Missile System Software Engineering team.
However, frequent travel between Tewksbury and Andover will be necessary due to utilizing different lab environments. Off hours testing (2nd shift) may likely be required due to availability of lab time. Also, may require travel to other locations to support installation and test activities. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance within one year of employment.

This position can be a Salary Grade G07 (Software Engineer II) or Salary Grade G08 (Sr. Software Engineer I) based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years software engineering/integration experience
  • Demonstrated experience with hardware and related software/hardware interfaces
  • Linux or Unix experience
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a US government Secret Clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only US Citizens are eligible for a clearance.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Better in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or other STEM related field.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem solving abilities
  • Self-starter with the ability to lead software integration and test activities
  • Familiarity with scripting languages
  • Active DoD clearance
  • Master’s degree in Mathematics, Science, or Engineering
  • Ability to operate complex test equipment
  • Prior Patriot experience
