Software Engineer (IA Experience)

Job Description

ASRC Federal is currently hiring a Software Engineer with experience supporting RMF based Assessment and Accreditation (A&A) in support of the Naval Circuit Management Office (NCMO) Order Management (OM) Division in our Suffolk, VA location.

This position will be performed as a member of the software development team within the Naval Circuit Management Office (NCMO), the Office of Record for Navy Telecommunications.

 

  • Lead a team to assist in accreditation of Navy applications under the Risk Management Framework (RMF) to include Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), server and application hardening, and communicating with cybersecurity representatives to understand and prioritize required RMF/A&A actions.
  • Investigating and developing new software tools and techniques in performing and automating Navy telecommunications management, to include inventory, financial dashboards, transition management and automation, and review and revalidation (R&R).
  • Utilize strong logic, design, and development skills with an understanding of low-level OS and system operations.
  • Develop in C#/.NET in an Oracle and SQL Server environment

Requirements

  • B.S. degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • Candidate must have more than 5 recent (i.e. less than 2 years removed) years of experience in a software engineering role
  • Experience supporting Risk Management Framework (RMF) based Assessment and Accreditation (A&A)
  • Experience working with security packages in eMASS, performing tasks such as entering test results, POA&M items, prioritizing actions, and responding to external cybersecurity personnel
  • Strong programming skills in C#/.NET
  • Experience in Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server database technologies
  • Must have a minimum of a U.S. Secret Security clearance

Desired Skills:

  • Strong programming skills in JavaScript, jQuery
  • Experience using Team Foundation Server (TFS), SVN, or other version control systems
  • Experience working with MVC architecture
  • Experience with NHibernate or Entity Framework Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) technology
  • Experience with AJAX and Bootstrap
  • Experience administering IIS and Windows Server
  • Experience with agile development, to include requirements development and testing
  • Experience in developing applications for the Navy or Department of Defense
  • Experience supporting accredited software development CMMI ML3 or above
  • Experience with DoD eMass application.
