Job Description

CACI is seeking a Software Engineer at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD  with future 2-3 days/week support from Annapolis Junction, MD in support of C4ISR. You will be part of the development of programmable logic functions utilizing FPGA device and design of signal processing algorithms to support software defined radio functionality, data communication with peripheral devices, and other capabilities as required. What you’ll get to do:

  • Design and implement FPGA solutions for REDHAWK and software defined radios
  • Develop architectural approaches to enable future adaptation of FPGA signal processing solutions to new signal types
  • Reverse engineer existing RF signal processing solutions

More About the Role:
You will work closely with hardware engineers, software engineers, and algorithm developers to define system specifications and architectures, to document detailed designs, and to implement, troubleshoot, and verify existing designs.


You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Active DOD TS/SCI
  • BS/BA in a technical area with 8 years' experience OR AS/AA and 10 years' experience
  • Ability to maintain and/or enhance existing C/C++/Python source code and reverse engineer source code functionality
  • Familiarity with signal processing techniques (energy detection, channelization, phase coherency, Doppler compensation, demodulation, etc)
  • Experience developing signal processing algorithms in C/C++ based on other implementations (ex. MATLAB) or straight math descriptions (ex. IEEE paper) is a plus)
  • Experience using Linux based OS (ex. CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.)
  • Experience installing and using software from Linux repositories and source code (ex. building C++ GitHub project from source with make)
  • Experience with overall FPGA image architecture

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Recent experience with design and implementation of software defined radio development; familiarity with Ettus use of USRP products ,REDHAWK, SALVAGE, GNU Radios
  • Knowledge of OpenCL and/or CUDA software, using existing libraries, benchmarking performance, optimizing kernels.
  • Experience with VHDL design entry, constraint, simulation, and synthesis tools(experience working with Xilinx Vivado a plus)
  • Familiarity with Linux command line utilities and bash scripting
  • Experience installing Linux based OS (ex. CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.)
