Software Application Engineer IRES

Description of Duties:

The Software Application Engineer supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will:

  • Work with a team of experienced software engineers to automate business processes and perform operations and maintenance (O&M) of Commercial Off- The-Shelf (COTS) applications
  • Complete document deliverables and test plans in accordance with change management processes.
  • Support various application technologies including server-side web development with a focus in Java, JSP, Servlets, Ruby and Tomcat
  • O&M tasking includes daily system checks, application configurations, vendor updates, responding to customer requests. Interaction with customers and ensuring security best practices and compliance with IA standards.

Occasional afterhours support is required.

This position is located at Schriever AFB, Colorado.

Must have one of the following combinations of education andexperience: HS Diploma (or GED) and 12 years of general experience; Associate’sdegree and 10 years of general experience; Bachelor’sdegree and 8 years of general experience; Master’s degree and 6 years ofgeneral experience.

  • General experience must include 6 years relatedexperience in one or more of the following applications and tools: RelationalDatabases (e.g. MS Access, Oracle, SQL Server);Programming Languages (e.g.HTML5, Java, .NET, J2EE, CSS, XML, ColdFusion); Operating Systems: Windows,UNIX; graphic design software and tools such as Adobe CS4/5, 3DStudio Max,Maya, Flash, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flex, Dreamweaver, HTML, DHTML, XHTML,CSS, JavaScript, and equivalents; software project lifecycle tools (i.e. BugTracking, Requirements Management, etc.); and/or server side architectures andsystem design and development.
  • Candidate must have experience in softwareapplication support, maintenance, development, and engineering practices.
  • Experience with the following: JSP, Servlets,and Ruby.
  • Experience in developing workflow for business automation
  • Experience in the Software DevelopmentLife-Cycle (SDLC) including: Requirements Gathering, Design, Implementation,Testing, and Maintenance.
  • Familiarity with server certificates and CommonAccess Card (CAC) implementations.
  • Possess an understanding of Enterprise levelapplications that include troubleshooting application related security issues.
  • Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Must have DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II Certificationsuch as CompTIA Security+ CECertification or higher.
  • Experience with Java, JSP, Servlets, JavaScript/ JQuery, Ruby, and T-SQL (SQL Server), Internet Information Services (IIS),Tomcat, Microsoft Visual Studio 2015, Eclipse, and Active Directory
  • Experience coding with and resolving securityissues using HP Fortify360.
  • Experience with Kinetic Data development and/orRemedy development.
  • Familiar with MDA programs.
